SPEAKER_03

Welcome to episode 295 of the Faces of the Future Podcast. It's your boy Mills. I got Rocket in the building with me today. How you doing today? We here. Yeah, we here? Yep. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, was you was you in the Matrix last night? How was your week been? How has your weekend been so far? Um, for the most part, on uh autopilot. Autopilot? I feel like I feel like I've been in that mode too a little bit. I feel like I got a little more energy now though. I feel like um just been like Mo's been like back to work. Back to work. We had 295, we five more episodes to 300. So so we almost we almost we almost to a to a goal that we set out for. We're almost to a goal that we set out for. And then on top of everything that's been going on, you know, just in just in Jersey and Philly and then the surrounding areas with all the news. I mean, there's a buzz going on around here right now. There's a buzz going on right now. What's the buzz? You know what I'm saying? You know the buzz? LeBron James. LeBron James! If you ain't if you wasn't a fan, you know what I'm saying? If you wasn't a fan, I mean now's the time to jump on the bandwagon, huh? Now's the time to jump on a bandwagon. Why are you jumping on a band message? Who said I was jumping on the bandwagon? I said, I said, it's- You was overly glazing this past week. I was. I got, I mean. Like you got a hype jumping out your boots. I did. Sending me audio messages. I was sending you audio. Yeah, I was sending everything. For what? It's not your team. Hey, bro. What are you hype about? I'm I'm hype because the city got a little, a little, a little more, a little more buzzed. It feels good. It feels good. You know what I'm saying? If now is the time to jump back, I mean this is the year to do it. This is the this is the year to do it. You got we got some see, I'm saying we now, like I'm already part of the program. Like I'm already part of the jumping bandwagon. No, I'm still I'm still a Rockets fan, you know. From Day Do a Dive. I'm Rockets. That's what you're blind. I barely hear you talk about the Rockets these days. I talk about the Rockets all the time. They just must talk about you know what I'm saying? We got easy money sniper. We ain't do nothing. Not in the chat. During basketball season I do. During basketball season I talk about the Rockets. I do. I guess. But this is great news. Great news to who, though? To me. That's not your team. So, so, so, so y'all look at me different if I if I start if I start jumping on the bear wagon this year. It's a little weird, bro. It's a little weird. It's a little weird. Why now? It's not why now. You know, I support the the Philly teams. I don't be sure I don't support the Philly teams. Oh, so your Eagles team? I didn't say Eagles. I just said we ain't going that far. So you're a cap. We ain't going that far. You're a cap. So you're a speech fan now? You think you think they would claim me? You think you think the fan base would claim me? No, bro. That's weird behavior. That's crazy. That's weird behavior. So I can't so I can't get the LeBron throwback now? Like you like you was gonna get No. What throwback? You said if LeBron, you said on the last episode chatting, bro. So you said if LeBron comes to Philly. I'm not a fan. I'm not a jersey collector. You're a jersey collector. I'm not saying you're a fan. He's a fan. That's weird. What's wrong with collecting jerseys? Weird energy. You're not no loyalty. I have loyalty. The loyalty, the loyalty. Ah, that is weird. My loyalty is to the Kansas City Chiefs. But you said you support my loyalty is to the Houston Rocks. How does that equate, bro? But, but, but because I'm in the region, because I'm in the city, you know what I'm saying? It would have hurt to see. You know what I'm saying? That doesn't mean anything. See it win? That doesn't mean anything. What do you mean it doesn't mean anything? Just because you're in the city doesn't mean you have to like rep the team. Oh, I'm not. I didn't say rep. I just put the program. That's rep in the team. You know what I'm saying? I can't be like the I can't be like the rest of the Braun fans over Braun. You saw the Nike commercial when Bron jumped to the ocean? They jumped into the ocean. When Braun went to LA, when Bron went to LA, they went to LA. When he went to Miami, they went to Miami. Now I come to the city. It's a little weird to me that uh all of a sudden now you're a huge LeBron fan. How's that weird? How is that weird? Bro, you don't really talk. Bro, you don't really know. I never saw LeBron. So I've never really heard you say LeBron James is your favorite player. I never Yeah, he's not my favorite player of all time. So now you're jumping banned by the bigger? My favorite player of all time is Alan Iverson. That's my favorite player of all time. So that's that's where I circled it back. That's where I circled all. You see who I you are see here, I said my favorite player of all time is. What's my favorite all time is? That's not your team. You know what I'm saying? That's that's when look that's when I'm just your team, though, bro. That's when I jumped off the wagon. That's not your team. When when when when when when they let when they let AI go down, when they let AI go to Denver, when did AI go to Denver? We followed him to Denver. Huh? We followed him to Denver. Did I? Yes. That's what I said. I can't remember. So I realized that made me realize you actually are a bandwagon ass bull. I follow, I follow, I follow players. But I have my team. What? I have my team. I can't support a player on a different team. Whenever you ever see me really like. You don't support no players? I mean, I don't rep the team though. Like, I I don't rep the team whatsoever. But you rep the players. Like, for example, for the- I'm saying he's a good player. I'm not saying, oh, I'm gonna go get his jersey. Nah, you can't call me. We said he's gonna get LeBron jersey if he came to Philly. Did you see me get a LeBron jersey? I think he won either. But you were hype about LeBron coming to Philly. I'll say he's gonna be the city. What you mean? I know I don't see you jumping out your boots. I know you don't. You're right. You're right. But let me ask you that. I'm not a Sixers fan, bro. Let me ask you this. When Bron came to the Celtics, I'll be a little happy. Yeah?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Of course, that's your squad. You see what I'm saying? I'm loyal to the squad. I mean, I was hype when KD came to the Rockets, but we just ain't win. But you're hype about LeBron going to Philadelphia. Just energy in the city, bro. That's all. That's really all it is. It's not necessarily I'm hype that he came to the Sixers. I'm hype that it's just like, bro, the city, the city's activated. You even said the city's activated. I think you're a little hype came to the city's activated now. Is the city not activated now? Isn't the star studied star study cast across every sport? They already won a bowl. They did, but I'm saying, is it not a star study cast across every sport now? It's the new hotbed right now. I mean, yeah. That's that's all I'm saying. I mean, but the Philly was already on the uprise. You said what? With or without LeBron. You said what? You said that again? Philly was already on the uprise of like a like a it's already a major city, but you get what I'm saying in terms of entertainment. But the how so? In terms of Philly being enter entertainment. I would I would have to disagree. What do you mean? It's not on the uprise. I feel like Philly's been on, Philly's been on in terms of entertainment. I would say it's kind of been even killed for a while, like entertainment-wise. I mean look at this summer. There's a lot of entertainment going on in Philadelphia. Well, with the World Cup for sure. For sure. But I'm saying, though, I'm saying in general over the last few years as well. The World Cup, the MBB MLB All-Stars. Respect. Respect. You got that one. You got that one. Like there's a lot more than the. So you justify my in my hype to be the city's buzzing. Not just because of LeBron, though. But LeBron amplified that shit. That's every year. The root picnic's every year. I'm just saying. Yeah, Jay Jay popped out. Jay popped out. You can't knock that out. Okay, your fact your facts is facts. I can't deny the facts. I can't deny the fact that you're right about that. You're right about that. Isn't like the golf tour gonna be in Philadelphia too? Um they had a they had a major earlier in the year. UC330 is gonna be in Philadelphia? Is it? Yeah, no, I was just thinking. I didn't know that. I didn't know that. I didn't know that. But my point being is with or without Bron, it was already like. Nah, bro, it's a different, it's a different it goes to my point that I said last episode. Does LeBron amplify the situation? Yeah, 100%. The ticket prices went from the average price went from 68 bucks, $68. That means the average LeBron? The average Joe could go into the arena, go to Xfinity Mobile, and watch a game, maybe in the nosebleeds, but they can still watch the game for a decent price. But now that the man stepped into the city, it's at 240 for the preseason. 240 for the preseason. We act like were you surprised about that? I'm not surprised. So what are we? So what are you what are we doing in this gesture for? It's not it's not a gesture. But we acting like Philly is not on the uprise with or without LeBron. LeBron just amplified it. LeBron put him over there. You put him over the home. You're right, bro. Bro, you're right. You're stating, you're telling me something that I agree with you about. I'm not saying you disagree. I'm not saying you disagree. I'm not saying you disagree. All I'm saying is the talks, the conversations, the energy, the responses, the reactions, they're all justified. They're all justified. Philly sports energy's already always been at an all-time high. Yeah, but I was even having a conversation in the chats, because I was even asking about the early 2000s, because you know, our group, like we was true. That was like that was like our that was our childhood coming up. Like when you know when you had McNabb, AI, all of them, you know, Jimmy Rollins. Mike Vick came around. Mike Vick came around. City was City was buzzing. Shady McCoy. Yeah, all of them. TO, all of them was in the city, you know what I'm saying? Mm-hmm. Exactly, you know what I'm saying? And you always you had um the music scene was jumping, all that type of shit, bro. And now I posed a question to one of my chats. I'm interested to hear what your thoughts are. We're debating on what's more electrifying now, like that era of Philadelphia when it comes to the sports and entertainment, or current state, what we're about to what's about to experience in the city. I mean, I ain't gonna lie to you, it's probably gonna be this current state. Believe it or not, nah, you're starting to see a lot more like I don't know, I don't know how like what word to put on it, but like the energy is different around here. Yeah, I agree with that. Like, from like Jersey, Philly, going up to like North Jersey in the ways, even New York. Yeah. Like the energy is just like different. Everybody's not, I don't want to use the keep scene using the word outside, but like people are more like in the flesh now, so to speak. It it definitely does feel like that. AI error. Yeah, I will say, like, even with Brian, you can tell he's kind of want to feel like like Rich Paul was saying, yeah, Brian feels like he's a kid again. Yeah, yeah, you know what I mean? Because he's not really about the money, because he already has the money. Yeah, so now he's just playing just to play. Exactly, exactly. And like, what better way? I mean, in in reality, is like to really feel that you know, basketball culture is is to be in Philly. 100%. 100%. Like you said, and the reason, the reason I think it amplifies, I agree with 100% of everything you just said, is that having a star like that mixed with the culture of like in an actual basketball like city, because like think about it. Like every place that he's been, whether it's Cleveland, whether it's LA, whether it's Miami, like basketball, yeah, they have teams, but that that's not like the main focus there. That's not the main thing. There's so many, you gotta think about it, like like you said, LA, uh, Miami, like those cities they're diluted with all these other things and entertainment. Like Cleveland's cool, but like it's not really a hub for basketball. Yeah. To where like Philly, bro, like it's it's a blue-collar, like, you know, city to where it's like they're really getting behind their teams, and like basketball is really a thing. You know what I mean? People spending that hard on money to see the sporting events. Yeah, and they gonna let you know. It's no different than playing in New York. Exactly. What do you think? Do you obviously New York's a bigger market as mass people, but like in terms of like fan base? I think I think I mean even with New York is still diluted with different entertainment. Like Philly has its like hot spots, but it's like their bread and butter is is sports. They live and die by it. Yeah, like their days are fucked up if they lose. Yeah. Like the people. You gotta think about it like all four seasons, you know what I mean? It's some sort of sport they're trying to get behind. Okay, are we gonna go to the cup? Are we gonna go to like like the Stanley Cup? Yeah, yeah. Are we gonna go to the finals, or we're gonna go to the World Series, or we're gonna go to the bowl again. You know what I mean? Like it's all surrounded by sports to where like Braun coming to the city, it is an iconic moment because the fact that Bron's here, like everybody's gonna want to feel like they need to like be close to it. Yeah, you know what I mean? 100%. So even during football season, they're expecting LeBron at least to go to one or two games, bro. I didn't even think about like that. You're right. You're gonna pop out of the link. Bro, I'm saying, like, prices are gonna go up to the ball. Everything. It's amplifies. Yeah, he bro. Like, I will say he does move the needle as far as like sales. 100%. He's gonna throw out the first pitch probably at a Phillies game. You see what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. He's gonna be at the Flyers too, probably, bro. Yeah, he's doing a promo tour, bro. Yeah, like think about it. Like, he's smart because it's like yeah, he went from Cleveland to two major big cities, Miami and LA. Now he's going back down to Philly. Philly's like it's a beautiful sweet spot for as far as like a city because it's it's it's a a lot of people around the world and the state know where Philadelphia is, but like they really want to know what's actually in Philly to where it's like they're gonna make people fly out there and like there's stuff around here, but like it's gonna make different things grow in the city and around it, outside of it. Yeah, because even even not to jump to the World Cup stuff that we were talking about before, but like even like the people that are coming into Philadelphia, you know how like on NF Philly gets like a bad rap, like you hear about like Kensington, whatever it may be. That's kind of like the stuff that's in the news. When they touched down Philly, a lot of people were like, yo, Philly's an amazing city. There's a lot, there's like you know, the food culture, just the cult, the people, all that type of stuff. So yeah, like it's around a lot, it's around a lot, the access. Because we were talking about like the be able to go down to DC, go up to the passway. You gotta think about it. You gotta go rather you go up north or go down south. You gotta go through like Philly, PA, and Jersey. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. You get what I'm saying? Yeah, I get what you're saying, but like yeah, like like that's that's why I felt like I don't know, the energy just different. That's why I don't know. You asked why I was a little happy. I don't think adult-wise, in my adulthood, I've been in a city that's like activated like that. If that makes sense. In terms of stuff that like we're interested in and we care about, whether it be like the music team, sports, whatever, maybe it may not be like the team that I'm supporting, whatever it is. But I'm saying it's that's one team. I'm talking about like the city as a whole. You feel me? Like, no, it's no different than 2008 when they were the Phillies won the World Series. That was the city was activated. Yeah, but I'm saying I said adulthood though. Like adulthood where I'm actually like like able to be in the mix, whatever it is. Like, yeah, we're I should say when you're younger, that's the nostalgia of like, yeah, 2008 we saw the World Series happen. We saw you AI and them in the Sixers, they're competing every year to try to make it out the East. You have the Eagles going to innocent. Yeah, but them Phillips, them Sixers games were packed. They were packed. We was going to packed. That's why that's why even going back to your question like what's more what's gonna be more iconic, the AI jersey of that. It's gonna be Braun, bro. I ain't gonna lie to you. Like, some of this, yeah. If I put all my like jokes aside, it's gonna be Braun, bro. Like, I'm telling you, bro, like Showtime's in Philly, bro. No, I'm saying, like, when he has that all black and he and he goes to that, you know, this, you know, when you check in the sub-in, he's gonna put that chalk in the air, smoking everybody first team for game one, bro, and that go in the air, bro. They it's gonna be in the retros. That's that's gonna be electric. It's gonna be in the retros, bro. That's gonna be gonna stand up for him. Yeah. Yeah, they say everybody. They were saying, they were saying um a lot of people on like X and stuff were saying they need to bring back the old Sixers announcers. Bro, I'm telling you, they they all say he's gonna retire. Mark Zuma said he's gonna retire. I'm trying to tell you, they're gonna play put him in the retros first. Think about it, the all-white retro, six-year joints.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then I feel like, like you said, him going to all these other sporting events games too. You might have to reboot them shoes. You might have to. Classic joints. You might have to. Or rock the AIs from one game. If he came out on the AIs, well, he might not have to because he's he might not be able to because of the uh fucking the Nike deal. Oh, yeah, you could. But if he did come out and join the game like one day to be able to just do that, it should, bro. That shit would be a lecture. Bron's bigger than Nike, right? He's bigger than NBA, right? Bronze bigger than NBA. So who give a fuck? It's just fine, right? I don't know what I don't know what his contract is lifetime. I don't give a shit, right? Nike's a different deal. You sign his life to them. You sign his life to them. You sign his life to them. He ain't signed his life to these these organizations. The NBA, hell yeah. He can walk away from the he can walk away from the NBA. He can't walk away from Nike. That's lifetime. You talking about IP? Exactly. That's lifetime. So he ain't bigger than the NBA. He's bigger than the than the than the NBA program. But the NBA Nike are includes, bro. They even saying that on Club 520, they were saying that Tegan, they said they said Braun bigger than the league. I have Nike's behind it. But that's what they say. The niggas in the league was saying Braun's bigger than the league. Everything shuts shit down. Not if Nike's behind it. Am I wrong? Is Nike not with the NBA? That's a partner. A strong partner. A partner. A strong partner. Strong partnership. That shit changes. That shit changed the end. Uh I don't think it renewed. I think they they're on their own contract still. Because it used to be a different. I think they extended it. I'll look it up. Let's see, let's see. Absolutely. How long is At the end of the day? Like you said, Ron has to answer the that one entity, right? Which is N I K E. Um it goes to Nike's Party series locked through the twenty thirty six. 37th season. Dang. They signed an eight-year deal in 2015. Okay. And you're right, they extended in 2024. So they recently extended. I know. When it comes to that. So yeah, that's their um Jersey partner in fan gear. I wonder how that well, I guess fanatics is different because they they distribute Nike gear. So they're more the distributor as opposed to like the partner. But one thing I was gonna say, like you said, game one's gonna be great. I feel like you know how like New York has like their celebrity role on the court side, like LA has that. I feel like the celebrity role in Philly is gonna be letter fine, bro. It's just gonna be Bron, bro. You're they're catching Braun in his last two seasons, he said. Yeah, and then even like obviously like Braun, people come to watch Braun. But like they have a star-studdy cast. You got Jalen Brown, you have Hioel, you have Max, you have VJ, you have a lot of it's really it's showtime in fucking Philly now. It's showtime in Philly. You gotta see what the city's gonna do around it. You think there's gonna be more concerts, more things, more and stateside opened up too. That's just gonna be like it's gonna be mayhem. You got football, then basketball, then baseball. Well, it's right now, yeah. Go with it like baseball kicking it off right now. Yeah. I mean, it's like baseball is like on like the back half of the season now. Yeah, yeah, for sure. But I'm saying though, like I feel like the cycle's starting now. Yeah. When it comes to like, yeah, baseball's on the back half right now. They're about to Yeah, Bryce Harper. Because they asked Bryce Harper, what is it for what does it feel like being in this now that Braun came, he's just like now there's so many, he's because they asked the same question, so many superstars. It's gonna make people play harder. That's what I was gonna say. Because one, they're all because you know, athletes got the ego. Like, I don't want to be the guy in the city. It's like it's like being at a high school or a college, you know what I'm saying, rather. Who's the big man on campus? Yeah, city's the campus. Who it what's Braun City now? Or is it Jalen's? I was gonna say Jalen got Jalen got the Jalen got the hold on the city right now. You think it's right now? So now that Braun is home. Braun gotta win, bro. Braun has to win. Like, the butt, the butt look. So Jalen still got the crown? It's like it's like this. It's like this. This was great, bro. This is how I'm gonna break it down. This is how I'm gonna break it down for the listeners, for you too. This is how I'm gonna break it down. It's like bring it down for them. It's like it's like Jalen coming up, say, say you went to high school or you in college, whatever. Jalen, Jalen just won a chip. He just won a chip, whatever it may be. They went to the dance and all that type of stuff. So he's he's sitting on top of the throne. Oh, we just got a new, oh, y'all get that you say you're in college, you got that, you got that call. Oh, such and such is transferring now to come play for for the roster. Yeah, people hype, but it's still it's still Jalen's, but if that nigga come out winning, no, bro. He comes out winning? No, I give you. That's like that's like you got the number one player in the country. That's what I'm saying. Like a transfer of number one player coming to the town. Come into town. Yeah. I don't know. I think the whole thing, I think everything's shutting down. Everything shifted. Everything's shifted. The boy who's running chips and stuff, like he's still getting grades, bro. Like, you these are two sports that like if you're the man, you're the man in the city. It's basketball and football. You can't get better than that in like America. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, baseball can compete as well, but like it hits a little bit hard in basketball and football. It does. Now that bronze here, bro. Jalen gotta win another one. You gotta win another one? So where did Saquon fall on this in the star study kit? Oh shit. That's what I'm saying. Because remember Saquon was Saquon's not the main. Remember when Saquon came, it was all about Saquon. You know what I'm saying? But then Jalen's Day. You know what I'm saying? They put Jalen in the book. They put Jalen in the book. When the story broke that Saquon was coming from New York Debbie. You're right. The whole league shut down. I forgot Saquon here. That's you see what I'm saying? You see what I'm saying? Like, and he was supposed to be the guy. Jalen was still the guy, bro. Love hurts, bro. Love hurts. Respect that curses, yeah. But it does. But it's Jalen City right now, bro. But now that Bron's here, bro, I don't know. He he's he's he's he's a he's a he's a solid B Mike. He's 1A, bro. I mean he's 1B, excuse me. Braun's 1A? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bron's definitely. So it's Braun, bro. So let me ask you. So you're saying Jalen's a bigger influence icon and I'm not saying all that. I'm not saying I'm not saying all that. They're shutting the streets down for Braun, bro. Yeah, but but I'm talking about in Philly specifically. Philly specifically. Yes, they should have bro. The greatest player in of one of arguably the greatest player of all time is coming to Philly, bro. Yeah. The last you said the last time, yeah. The last time on an election fry election flying player like that was not Joel, AI. AI. And this could be his farewell tour. So everybody's watching last run. Is he retiring? Is he gonna go out and if he wins a chip, is he gonna come back? If he does win a chip, do you think he should retire or come back? Yo, if he does it like this, bro, I'm gonna be honest with you, bro. Like if he if he ends it in Philly in a poetic fashion, actually bringing these guys a chip, bro. I ain't gonna say he's better than Jordan, bro, but he's dead. That that that conversation actually gets stronger. It does. He brought two cities that were dying for a championship, Cleveland and Philly in basketball, out of their ruins and brings them a title. Yeah, if if he does that for Philly, he ain't the best. He might. He might have to be. He might have to be. Nah, that's not true. If he brings him, if he if he brings Philly a championship, bro, they haven't won a chip since 1930. Bro, you have to realize you have to realize they haven't been back to the final since 2001. Bro, this this 2000. This man, 83 was the last time they did a big parade in the city. He overhead, but the thing is, green in his hand. But the thing is, this man MJ kissed the game goodbye. Yeah. Just to go play No Sport. Came back and grabbed three more. True. Or two more. Three more or two more. Did you grab three more? Three more, right. Did you repeat it both times? I mean, everybody has their own side quest. LeBron had side quests. Let me go get my son in the league, do my thing, let me come back and let me get this. What? He was still active in the league. And he won a chip. He won a chip, bro. Everywhere he won, he's he's touched the title. Okay. Everywhere, he's he's he's he's he's fulfilled his. Everywhere, everywhere, I mean. So what's MJ's body of work tell you? I'm not I'm not, we can't, obviously we're not, we're not debating. So you're telling me MJ couldn't go anywhere else and do the same thing? He could. That's a what if though. Like we don't. There's no what-ifs, bro. He won six three three-peated brother. In the in the program. In the program. Oh, so in the triangle offense. So they didn't build the program around MJ? They did, but in the sense about this. If you think about this, it was the program. But when he left, they still was the number one team in the east. Did they win? They didn't want to chip, but they still have number one team in the east. Did they win? They won justice in the game. Did they win? They want justice with the game. Bro, did they win when MJ left the game, bro? They didn't. They didn't want to give it a game. So what are we talking about? But I'm just saying the system worked. What are we talking about, bro? System worked. When he went to Miami, they already were winning. So who's winning? So D Wade didn't have a chip before he won. He won a chip in what? LeBron didn't come to 28 years, seven, eight years later. They already won. Seven, eight years later, it was a whole new program there. They already won, bro. D-Wade needed him to come to get back to the dance. They needed him to come back to the dance. They knew how to win, bro. They knew how to win, bro. D-Wade. They knew they knew that. D-Wade needed to be a good one. D-Wade didn't need LeBron. Every year for one, brother. Huh? You can't win every year. I mean, unless you're Michael. Yeah, exactly. That's your Michael. Yeah, unless your Michael joined. LeBron ain't Mike. You see the difference? And Mike ain't Braun. You're right. Mike's at a higher level on the court. LeBron's more talented. Right. Mike's just a better winner. More talented. He's more fit. Anybody in the NBA will say that LeBron's more talented. LeBron is is has more of the physical attribute for sure. That doesn't make him more talented. I think LeBron's more talented physically and skill level when it comes to basketball than Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan's a better one. He's physically stronger. Yeah. And before we move on out of this, out of this segment, we talked about like Saquon and all that. When it comes to the hierarchy of the Philadelphia 76ers, let's rank their star study cast. Like who's pretty obvious, bro? I know, I know Bronze at the top, but like who's after that? Braun, Joel, Jalen. Then it goes Maxi, then BJB. If we're taking the last shot, you take you taking, you taking, you take, obviously Bron probably won. I think, I think J B JB, bro, let's say that's a finals MVP, nigga. See, nigga, niggas put on JB's name. No, we said LeBron's one. I'm saying I'm not. Joel's never been MVP in anything? He's never been a finals MVP, bro. Has he ever been MVP ever? He's been MVP of the league, but finals MVP is more important. Oh, when I said that, you said no, MVP was more important. When did I say that? This is from ages ago, bro. I remember that. When did I say that? Bring the tape up, bro. When did I say that? Bring the tape up, bro. Because I've always argued for JB. I've always argued for JB. And it showed it's not JB's team. JB left because of politics. Okay, it wasn't his team, bro. Sixers, it's not his team. You saw how mad the Boston fans were. You thought you thought it was JB's team when he went to Philly, bro. Now look. You said what? I didn't hear what you said, honestly. You thought it was JB's team when he went to Philly, no? When he went to Philly? When he got traded up to go into Philly. Oh, I said they become the title contenders.

unknown

Alright.

SPEAKER_03

I said it was JB's team. Right. This man always be acting playing dumb. On the Celtics, I said it was JB's team. It clearly wasn't, bro. I can I can I can I can bow down to that and grace, graceful, gracefully take my L on that because he's not. He's not with the he's not with the Celtics anymore. I can gracefully agree. I can I can say I was wrong about that. That still doesn't get my point. I think. So is he ever gonna be like the guy? He was the guy. If he wasn't the guy, why'd he get MVP in the finals? Tell me that. Tell me that. Tell me why. If he wasn't a guy, if he didn't carry it over over the hump when he was. Why did the guy get traded? Because it was outside of basketball. It wasn't about basketball. That wasn't about basketball. Everybody knows that wasn't about basketball. If it was purely about on the floor play, he would still be. I think he was the guy. Why did he get traded? Too controversial, bro. No shit. Gotcha. No shit. That's all I'm saying. I think the people would agree. I think the people would agree. I don't think so. I think talent-wise. He had his opportunity to be the guy when uh JT got hurt. I mean, was he not carrying him when JT was by when JT wasn't there? Didn't carry him hard enough. Well, now we'll see if JT can do it. Why he's solo. See if he can do any better. Because it's gonna be tough. It's gonna be it's gonna be tough in the East now. We're gonna see if you're really that guy, JT. Yeah. We're gonna see if you're really that guy. We traded it, bro. We traded him to Philly for a reason, bro. What was that reason? We're gonna have to see him. The Celtics gonna finish third in the in the division, probably. That was his request, probably. Trade me to somewhere where I can see y'all. I don't think he had a say in where he went. You don't think so?

unknown

Nah.

SPEAKER_03

Why would they trade him to Philly then? Um, that was that was probably like the more the GM shit, bro. Like, I don't think Bro why would they trade a player that's that good to a team that you're probably gonna see a lot? Yeah, but I'm saying, like, if you if you have a J got to probably say in that. I mean, uh JB probably had a say in that shit, bro. Um I don't know about that. I really don't know if you gotta really think about it. As a program, you're gonna a player that is considerably considerably to be 1B or 1A, whatever, why would you trade him to a team that you're gonna see a lot? That'll make sense. Probably because they had a piece that they that they wanted that could fit the motor when he when he left. Like, yeah, PG's not PG anymore, but he can come in and be a three and allow JT to do what he needs to do. So I feel like that was an easy I get it, bro. And some and they got some picks. They got some picks. I get it. I get what you're saying. Like your argument ain't wrong, but I don't think if JB's like, I want to go to the Sixers, I'm they're gonna I'm gonna sit to the Sixers. We have that much, we have that much rapport because they was literally they was beefing, bro. Like, so I feel like if anything, they would try to send him West Coast. But no? You said to the West Coast? Somewhere where where someone gotta want to take on his contract, too. True. But I think I think when it comes to that, I don't know who's taking the last shot in the game. Realistically, bro, if you keep it a bean, like I don't really think it's like they know anybody can take the last shot. Right. I think Joel would be the person to probably take the last shot. You think so? Bro, I mean you think he has the most pressure out of any of them? Yeah, you got what you need, bruh. There's no more crying, huh? The process is it should be complete, bro. Yeah. No more crying, bro. You should you should be the most try your hardest to be very, very healthy this year. Yeah. I'm I'm I'm I'm um I'm excited to see what happens in just in the NBA in general. When it happened, what happens with the Sixers? With the like I said, the energy's gonna be like when these when these seasons start to kick off, tip off, all that type of stuff. Because it's gonna be it's gonna be electric. Um It really is. Let me ask you this, and this is because I'm moving on to a little a little bit. We're gonna slightly touch on like um the football stuff since we're talking about the birds. How important is it for Smitty to go off this year? For the Eagles. Um Do you think that puts him into like a stardom category if he really becomes the guy like people are saying? Because we were talking about this last year. I think it's important for him to have another consistent year. I feel like he doesn't need to have. I mean, I mean, I'm not gonna say he doesn't need to have it. It would be nice to see him almost have like, you know, 1200 or 1500 yards receiving this year. Nice. But I'm saying, like, if we can stay consistent and make those continue continually continuously make plays when it matters, like I feel like people will still see like he's a small quote unquote receiver, but he's a go-to guy. You know what I mean? Like, I think he could be I think he's fine at being the number one receiver on the team. I agree. You know what I mean? They got another person to kind of not do what he does, but like be a Jaden Jalen Waddle. People don't realize, like, we've seen this look before, bro. You know what I'm talking about getting that USC pickup, you know what I mean? 100%. You know what I mean? We've seen these type of looks. You know what I mean? They got a decent tight end and they got a nice running back. People don't realize as long as they got the running game down solid, bro, they can do just about anything and they're still gonna go on a run. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, if their running game actually stays efficient and Jalen doesn't go back to like freshman year 2016, 2017, Jalen, to where he's like, he's playing too conservative and always trying to run the damn ball himself, they'll be there'll be a problem. Yeah, I'm interested to see how um because their defense is solid, bro. Yeah, the defense is solid. I feel like the hard the hardest part for the birds is gonna be because they have a couple new pieces on offense and defense. Those first couple weeks, they're just getting adjusted every everything. Like that. The thing is, I don't think they need to come out strong, bro. Like, I get it getting adjusted, but they need to show dominance. Yeah. Like the offense do like they need to do dominance. I mean, yeah, that's what I'm saying. They need to show dominance because it's like they're at the point in time to where it's like you guys have all the pieces to the puzzle. It's just like you said, you're just either rotating or adjusting certain players that are just either coming in or like replacing like old vets and stuff like that, to where it's like y'all shouldn't really be missing too many steps, bro. Like, yeah, you might have minor mistakes, but like week in and week out, you should be showing dominance until it's time to play like those big moment games. Like, even like it's Dallas, they might not be at the toughest. I mean, yeah, fuck that. They're tough, bro. They're tough. Like, y'all got a tough division's tough conference, bro. Like, to where it's like, y'all gotta at least go throughout the season with only maybe two to three losses. I I won't disagree with that at all. Like, that's what I'm saying. To show me that like you're gonna be a team to really be a threat to. Do you think they have more pressure than the Sixers to win? Like in this with in the with in the city? Uh yeah. Or you that's like who do you think has more who has more pressure right now? The Eagles or the Sixers? The Sixers do, bro. 100%. The Sixers do. Why you say that? Because Jail has what, one ring? He has a title. And he's been he and he's been to the dance twice. He had his marks, bro. He hit his marks, bro. Like, I get it, bro. Like, Philly fans, bro, like, uh you want more because you you see a lot of, but the thing is, you got a lot of pressure because you got a lot of elite players on your squad, bro. But the the difference with this football stuff, bro, across the league, there's nothing but dogs. Yeah. Like that that that's the difference. Like, basketball, you kind of see who's gonna touch the you know, the final. Like, you can kind of gauge early in the season, like who's gonna be good, who's and then everybody's not like a some like you said, for example, like we're talking about me being Rockets fan, and like, yeah, James Harden is a top-tier player, but you kind of know when he goes to the playoffs, he ain't really producing producing. That's what I'm saying. As opposed to like you said, the NFL, they motherfuckers is trying to get to it. They get when they get off, the most underrated player might just show out that that whole playoff run, bro. Yeah, you you know it's real. Like, for example, because we didn't talk about Aaron Donald just came out of retirement because he said, I'm trying to go get another one. Yeah, bro. Oh, dang. He's gonna probably sign one, I think a one-year deal. Dang. Like, so when you're talking about double. And the difference is like it's a one and done. They playing, you lose, you go home. Let's do it, it's not no series. Series, you could okay, you can sit out, game one, you can kind of like move pieces around, bro. You know what I'm saying? Like, this right here, this football series. You gotta get it now. You gotta go, yeah, they're gonna get it, bro. Because essentially, like, I feel like the further you go in NFL, and like you say if you win a chip, that changes your whole trajectory of your contract. It does. Like, to whereas, like basketball, you your deal is your deal, bro. Like you're already there for it. Because guaranteed. Yeah, like you see what I'm saying? Like, these underrated players, they're trying to play for a two-year deal next year at a different team because he balled out. You know what I'm saying? So And they say they say play in playoffs is where they make the where you make get your contracts. Yeah, the regular season you got regular season, you do what you're supposed to do. The playoffs, that's where you get your money. That's what they used them contract extensions. Like you said, if you're a rookie, amplify that next next deal once you're out that rookie deal, all of that. But to back to the main thing, like Sixers definitely have a uh a lot of pressure because they everybody, I guess the city in general has been itching to see these guys win a you know a finals. They've been there, but Kawhi ended their season. Ended their we just talking about he ended their shit. The last time they had it, the last time they were supposed to win a chip, Kawhi shut all that shit down. Yeah, shut all that shit down. Yeah, y'all, really, really, the Sixers is the only ones in the division, obviously besides the Nets, but the Nets is the Nets. They don't got a chip in the last decade. Yep, yeah. The Raptors got one before the Sixers. Yeah. Celtics ran it back. Yep. You know what I'm saying? The Knicks just got one. So you're right. A lot of pre like They need one. They got to. They got to. They need one. LeBron's not dumb, bro. He sees across the board, like, okay, what team really needs it? Yeah. He's trying to have a storybook ending, bro. I get it, bro. Like, Bron is poetic in that type of way because, like, like you said, MJ, bro, like, he did it to where like he built the team and he ended the team. Yeah. You get what I'm saying? LeBron, like you said, he's going from franchise to franchise, creating dynasties and have leaving his mark to where it's like when it's all said and done across the league, people say, Oh, yeah, Bron played for this team, Braun played for my city. It's to where it's like, you know what I mean? They have a little bit more, there's a little bit more of, you know, being tangible to him. Yeah. You know, you're not wrong about that. You get what I'm saying? To where it's like, that's why Braun is gonna have that everlasting effect. Yeah, they said they said, do you see that across? You who's that coming across the water? Across the Delaware. It says LeBron James. Yeah. Imagine him doing a parade in the city. Like, yeah, bro, like, like you, bro, like they will because it's like people are in love with the physical form of LeBron James. Yeah. People are in love with Michael Jordan's myth. They know the shoe. Some people know Jordan, like, oh, I know Michael Jordan. It's a legend of Jordan. They know the 23, but some people may not even know what he looks like, bro, in this era. Yeah, in this era for sure. The young boy, they don't. It's like the legend of him. It's the myth. Yeah. LeBron's more in the physical form. And we were talking about um at the beginning of the top of the pod, about just like the energy in the city and um the tangibility of everybody, bro. You could see the motherfuckers walking down the street one day, maybe. So it's like, like you said, it's a different like when we saw Kyle Core. Yeah, it's a different side of the. I don't even remember. Like, I remember, but I remember. Don't remember. Yeah. Like, how did that even happen? Well, it was coming out after the game, bro. I was like, let's walk into the parking lot. Took a picture. Oh. Were you there for that? Nah, that that's that you did pops went to the game. Oh, I thought you were there for that. Nah, he came. He came, he came home and said it. You had told me, you got a picture of Kyle Core. Yeah, nah, it was a little side of the road. Yeah. Nah, it wasn't out the lock. I don't know. It wasn't out the lock. He was going to his car, probably in like the parking lot type of shit. Like, but that's that's a thing. Like you said, like when it comes to injury the city, and I seen this with just like when I talked to some of my buddies that are like in New York and stuff, it's like you never know who you're gonna see. Like when you're in York, you never know who you're gonna see outside. So now in the city, it's like people gonna be outside because you never know who you're gonna do, bro. Yeah, people might just come in for the game for one night, might catch them. But yeah, the city's gonna be jumping. Well, like I said, it's it's it's it's about to be it's about to be a good end of summer going into fall. For sure. Winter, spring, into the next summer. We here. If they win one, yeah. If they win one, they won't is if LeBron brings one to Philly, is that a bigger accomplishment than Jalen and them went in for New York? Not uh oh, yeah. What? Jalen Brunson? What? Yeah, absolutely. I'm saying, like, just the New York Knicks finally getting a title for the city versus New York. Bro, that's cool, bro. Like, nobody gives a damn about Jalen Brunson anymore. Unfortunately. Except for the New Yorkers. Yeah, I mean, they no. They're happy. Jalen Brunson did it for New York, but they're happy for more so the Knicks. The Knicks, as opposed to Jalen. Not Jalen, Knicks, bro. Like, people were just happy. Oh, we just bro, you know how New Yorkers, bro. They haven't really, outside of the Yankees, bro. They give them that Jeter treatment. He's the new kid on the block. He won't have a chip. And what if they go back to back? Because they could, because they have it rostered. Does that solidify him? I don't know, bro. If a healthy like Sixers squad, bro, I mean it looks good. They're gonna be hard to beat bro. If the Sixers are healthy, it's gonna be it's chips for League, bro. Because 520. It's not chips, bro. Bro, the 520 podcast, bro. Listen to me, because I wanted to see what they were saying. Some of the NBA guys saying they were they were comparing the starting lineup of the Golden State Warriors versus the Sixers. And they were doing matchup for matchup. And they said, talent-wise, this roster is better than the Golden State roster, bro. By tenfold. You guys, bro, the dark skin area is back. It's back.

unknown

It's back.

SPEAKER_03

Back. Never said it died, but it's back. All you light-skinned Steph, Clay, you had your time. Yeah. You had your time. Yeah. You had your run. It was cool. Yeah. Chocolate, we style. Yeah. We always be in style, but like this, this right here for the city, yeah. It's gonna have the chocolate feeling, a little, little, little, little pop to it, baby. Across the board. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? But real talk, though. Oh, I'm agreeing with you. Yeah. That's what's that's why that's why I'm gonna do it. The stars are the stars are brothers. Stars are the stars. They need the broad street walk of fame. They put the stars on the broad street. You know what I'm saying? That's his name is they give him a statue of the street. They're gonna have a uh Philly sports ball, Gala. That's what would be that should be crazy. Yeah. They said if Bron wins the title, they brought the statue right next to Rocky. They're gonna knock down Rocky and put Braun. That'd be wild if that happened. That would be kind of crazy. That would be crazy. They don't got a statue in LA for Braun, do they? Nah. I'm telling you, they're not doing that. Not yet, but I mean not yet. They're not gonna do it. I mean, Shaq can get his not as it's not as fact, it's not as effective, bro. Bron might get one. It's not as effective. He might get his retired ass too. So you're telling me Bron's championship in LA will be more electrifying than Bronze Championship in Philly? Nah. I'm not saying that. It might be bigger than the one in Cleveland. Nah, I don't know. I don't know. Bro, it might be. Cleveland never touched the dance, my nigga. Like they've never felt they've never held the trophy. That's cool, bro. The chosen one came back to the homeland. The chosen one came back to the homeland and fulfilled his prophecy. That's cool, bro. His prophecy. That's all fine. Storybook. Nah, this this right here, him coming to Philly, bro. Philly fan, bro. He has a student body behind him. That should tell you a lot right there, bro. Like, like people are really gonna be there, like, like. They said he's gonna stop all the crime. He said, he said, he said, the crime. Bro, when BC sees the crime stop, the wine's gonna be inside when he plays. Yeah, I think about it. When the basketball season starts, the football season will be climbing close, coming to the end. Yeah. Like it's gonna, bro, it's gonna, everything's gonna be packed and stopped. That highway, that highway, bro, yeah, it's gonna be packed, bro. It's gonna be like when you when we were watching uh Friday Night Light, you said go on to the game. Everybody got decided signs, going to the game. It's gonna be packed, bro. You gotta be prepared for it. Yeah. Like when football comes down to the back end and basketball season starts, there's gonna be the crazy traffic. Just to see Braun and Jalen. South Philly's gonna be humming. Humming. Yo, bro. Stateside live is gonna be OD. Bumping. The parking lot's gonna be OD. The tailgate's gonna be OD. Everything's gonna be $100 to get in. You don't even gotta be in the game. You're gonna be it's gonna be electric. OD. If you don't get there early, bro, they're not gonna be playing, bro. Yeah. They're not playing, bro. It's gonna be World Cup 24-7. And that's every weekend. Every weekend.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

FIFA's gone, bro. We're not worried about soccer no more. Yeah. Unfortunately. They might as well keep the FIFA fan zone up and change it to the Braun fan zone for when the game play. Everybody's gonna be there watching. Big screen. Damn. Just take it out. God damn. This guy here. Change it to change it. Look, FIFA, don't tear it down. Braun's coming to town. Everybody's gonna be there watching regardless. Don't don't tear the fan zone down. Don't tear it down. I mean, I ain't gonna lie, they definitely tear it down. Yeah, I know. But the C gonna be shut down, bro. Yeah. When's the last time it really been shut down like this? For a basketball game. For basketball? It's gonna be packed in. Basketball, I don't remember. Granted, Bron ain't playing week in and week out, but that's what people don't understand. I think you're gonna play quite a bit. No, that's what people don't understand, bro. People expect Bron to come out right out the gate. They're gonna coast him. Yo, Brian, that's yo, he's literally like teasing people. He's gonna, he's gonna get like people expect like people and I'm not playing until midway through the season. People expecting Bron to come out and average like 25. I think he's gonna average a cool, like 18 and 9.

unknown

Nah.

SPEAKER_03

He's not gonna really have to score like that, bro. He might sometimes he might put up 30. Sometimes he put up 25, but it's just like if I'm Brian, I'm not playing until midseason, bro. Or if I am playing, I'm only playing like 20 minutes a game, if that. Nah, but what's the reason? Bro, you you have the manpower to he's gonna be playing, bro. He's gonna be playing. Okay. He might not play a lot, but he's gonna be playing. He has the manpower at the coast. Yeah, but it's like Brian, you really trying to win the chip? You gotta get that chemistry up. You got it, you got it. Well, he took a pay cut, a huge pay cut. Yeah. That should tell you a lot. He's not gonna play for a while. He don't have to. If I'm Brian, if I have the tools to do what I need to do between now and like All-Star Weekend, yeah, I'm gonna be on IR. We're cooking. Um, all right, I got a few more stories on the Monday Run 9 news um that's developed outside of sports. Um the Nolan Wells investigation. Um for the um for those of y'all don't know, it's it's a big story that's been going on um across the country. Um it says, I'll give you a for the listeners that don't know, I'm gonna give you a brief rundown real quick, but it says the mysterious death of 18-year-old football player Nolan Wells continues uh to raise questions nationwide. Um Wells disappeared after attending a 4th of July boat party um on Horton Island in Mississippi and was found dead two days later. Um, an independent autopsy uh commissioned by his family could not determine the exact cause of death and did not rule out um non-accidental factors. Authorities say investigations uh remain active while Nolan's family continues to question um conflicting witnesses, accounts, and things of that nature. Um so this is called national tension because of just the way things have gone down. A black kid goes on a 4th of July trip with a bunch of his white friends, and he's the only one that doesn't he's the only one that doesn't um come back. And once they came back, all the all the kids that were with him they deactivated his socials. Um they couldn't find his body. His socials? No, they deacted all their socials. Ah like L of them did. And they all got attorneys and things of that nature. Before he even got out. You said what? Before it like it even got out. Like as the story was developing. So it doesn't look good. Right. Um, and then also the public feels like there's stuff that people aren't saying, like the like the kids that were there, the maybe other adults that were there, um, of what actually went down. Because obviously it's weird that you're going with the whole group and then one person comes, doesn't come back, reported missing, and no one really like reports it and says, oh, this is what happens. I mean, if you're a parent or you're just a friend or you're somebody watching the story, like how does this look on the on the front on the on the on the front facing side from outside looking in? Do you do you would you assume that like the kids had something to do with it? Would you assume that um there was foul player? Could it just been accidental? I mean, how are they they're like teenagers, right? Yeah, they're he's he was 18, so he's like probably a senior in high school. Going on a trip and everything, and what was it, Cameron trip? They went a 4th of July boat party trip. Yeah, man. I mean, typically you would I mean anybody would think something like an accident were to happen right out the gate. Hopefully. Like you're thinking you're going with he's going with his friends, they're going like with I guess classmates or whatnot, you would think like there's an accident that happened and they're just trying to like not keep it under wraps, but I'll obviously keep it under wraps to figure it out. But then when it's like then you want to actually like sit back and like guess what's going on, it's like okay, why are you why didn't you call anybody? Like where's not the parents, there might not be parents there, because you gotta think about it. When we went down the shore, you know what I mean? We didn't have parents there, bro. You know what I mean? Like, they probably were panicking, bro. Like, to where it's like, oh sh, like guys, we gotta like figure this out. Like, then it's like, okay, did you guys do something? Clearly, you're with them to where it's like, why'd you deactivate all your socials? Like, typically a normal person wouldn't have to do all that. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? So just like then it's like, okay, when a person's missing, and let's say, okay, his parents call, because he's a teenager, right? Who's picking up the phone? Who because okay, if you if the parents don't hear from him from like two hours, three hours, somebody's reaching out to one of the friends. That's just typical. Right. Why isn't nobody saying anything? Then a parent has to call the police. Yeah. So now, where was the kid found out? Is he still missing right now? Yeah. I'm asking. No, he they found his body two days later. Now, did he have body wounds or you know, stab wounds, or did he? There was no stabiliation. So the autopsy, it said it could not determine the exact cause of death. So did he drown? That's what I'm trying to. I I don't I didn't see any reports like if he drowned or nothing like that, but but it's just very, very odd, you know what I'm saying, in terms of why they deactivate everything, why they lawyer up right out the gate. But it makes sense to where it's like the police will be coming to you to questioning. Yeah. So you do want to have the proper re representation. Yeah, because um, because Pete, not to cut you up, but because it's I'm looking at what it says on like people, um, on the PeopleMag on People.com. Um it just says like according to the offside, they literally couldn't rule out any foul play, but they didn't find any fractures or like deep tissue injuries on the team's body. Um, but they said there's there's still very important questions, but starting to figure out like what what went wrong because that's kind of odd. Now, where was he found? Um, let's see. Because that that's a whole different uh you know perspective too. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, like because if he was found like let's say in a car or a dumpster or the water, then so it says Nolan Wells was found in the water just off the northwest side of Horn Island, Mississippi, on the morning of July 6th, 2026. His body was discovered at 8 45 a.m. by a National Park Service Ranger after a two-day search. I mean bro. He could have drowned, bro. But if he drowned, but normally if you look if somebody drowned your body, he's gonna be like inflated little from being underwater. You're gonna be able to tell, like they never said, but no, we were looking for if there was any wounds. Yeah, but the autopsy, but they said the they didn't say the call if the call to death was drowned, they would be able to tell that in the autopsy that you you drown. Maybe they're trying to look for other factors and say they couldn't find any other factors. Because it says where he was found does not by itself establish how he died. Um Yeah, it just says the cause and manners are still undetermined, which is kind of crazy. Yeah, they're probably just trying to gather all detail. Yeah, I I wonder because if if you light up by the shore, that means you're still on you're still on Whore Island. It's a different maybe he's on a different part. Yeah, if you get down there, they probably put you know your body will push somewhere else. Yeah, I mean, for from my perspective with this, it's just like I feel as though obviously it's all just us speculating because we don't know the details, but allegedly. Yeah, allegedly I can see some foul play happening. Not necessarily saying it was from his friends. Why though? You said what? Why? Well, I'm gonna get into that. The reason the reason I say that is because just the way like the storyline of how it's being told, of kind of what you alluded to, how like people have been reacting, like whether it's like why didn't somebody tell somebody this happened or whatever. Yeah, they could have panicked, but I feel like if you panic, that means that something potentially could have happened that wasn't supposed to happen that you could have potentially caused. Because if one of your now, if if like say if we want to trip or something like your boy falls under under the water, or whatever, you drowned or whatever, say allegedly drowned. You're gonna call somebody, yo, such and such, happy. You're gonna call the police, let them know that what's going on. You may alert the parents that, yo, such and such got in an accident, such and such got hit, or whatever it is. I feel like that's a natural reaction for people to either reach out to someone that's close to the person, the party that got harmed, whether they want missing you can't find, or if you like you with the big group and one of your friends is not there with you coming back, it's like, all right, we gotta let his parents know that yo, he went MIA. Because I know I've like, there's been situations where we went out and one of our friends, we talked about on the pod, went MIA for a night. The first thing we did was hit up his hit up his hit up his mom's like, yo, did such us make it back? We haven't heard from whatever it is. Search began. So it's like, I feel like that's a a natural thing, at least if it's your if it's your friend. But that's just me. So then it goes into the question of how long was that time gap of when those kids seen that accident and when they reported that accident. Because that's different from when they found the body. Right. Because they could have reached out to somebody and they they had a search party or whatever and found the body days later. You know what I mean? So it says apparently um Nolan Wells' parents were not notified by the friends immediately after he disappeared. Um, it says around 3 p.m. Nolan was last seen on Horn Island. Um friends said they believed he chose to stay on the island um while they left by the boat. And then it says the boat carrying the rest of the group departed the island without Nolan. Um that evening, um, there was no public evidence that the friends directly contacted Nolan's parents to report he was missing. Um, some friends since said they assumed he was with other people on the island or had stayed behind voluntarily. Um, around midnight on July 5th, Nolan's mother contacted the Jackson County Sheriff's Department to report her son missing after realizing he had not come home. Um and it says the delay had become one of the central issues in the case. Um Nolan's family has questions why they were not informed sooner and raised concerns about inconsistencies and accounts provided by those who are with him. So I don't know. I go ahead. No, I'm looking to see because there's something about like his phone, but part was like his phone, like with whether it was the messages or like whether to find my own phone or something like it was on or off, whatever, because that's normally how you could track somebody where they're at, like who had his phone. But I'm about to search it up while we're talking, but get to the say your point while I looked that up real quick. I mean if it happened on the fourth, right? Right, and then it carried over to the sixth, I mean, realistically, he could have drowned I mean, I'm not gonna say he didn't get murdered or something bad happened. But like it could be true that he drowned, bro, now that I'm thinking about it, like if it happened on the fourth, he drowned on like the night of the fourth type shit, right? Right. It carries over a whole day, his mom calls a whole day, like on the fifth, they find him on the sixth, bro. Right. You get what I'm saying? Right. During that time, now if we're talking about the teenagers, they probably was like, oh shit, like where is he? Like, think about it, bro. Like, think about it. If it was you and like what, three other bros, yeah, and your boys went out, again, I'm not trying to defend them, like, and you're going out on the beach with the boat or whatever, and something like drastic happens, like, yo, who who's really telling that first? Or you're gonna try to figure it out. Oh, maybe y'all gonna think all different types of variations. You're saying like they maybe try to figure it out before they try to contact somebody? I'm gonna put that's not far-fetched. That's not far fetched. You know what I'm saying? But like, think about really think about that. If your boy, let's say he drowned, who's really gonna go right out the gate and say, yo, I'm gonna go tell this person, like X, Y, and Z? Because you you nobody really knows 100%. Is that really what happened?

unknown

Right?

SPEAKER_03

Because they did this, it does say they left without him. But do we know that's true? That's just according to them. Nah, according to them, right? We're just we're basing it off of what we're know, bro. Like, we could be completely off and they could have did this, that, and third. Like, we're not really following it fully, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, but like really think about that though, bro. And if, like, you said to your point, they left him, like, okay, he's probably chilling, like, he's alright, like we know him. He's a grown man. Like, you know, not grown man, but well, he's a grown man, fuck it. But you get what I'm saying? Like, yeah, because when I think about it, that's no different. Oh, go when I when I think about it, because you brought up the point of like we went to the story when we was in high school and stuff, and my parents wasn't around. It's just like, yeah, there's times your homies just leave you, you would chasing the shorty or some shit like that. Are you just your own maid? We'll figure it out, we'll meet up again. Like, we'll live, we'll find each other, bro. We know there's like flag points of where everybody goes. Yeah. Like, if I don't see you, I know we're gonna see somebody in our ecosystem that we can at least link up with. And he obviously felt comfortable enough to go with them on a trip, so come on now. Again, I'm not defending no. Yeah, we're not yeah, we're not defending. I'm just looking at it a holistic perspective, bro. Like, you're trying to break down what actually went down. But it says, because we all talked about the phone. It says, according to the information that has been made public so far, Nolan Wells' um phone was left on the boat, not with Nolan, when he stayed um on Horn Island, which is awkward. That's that's the thing that gets me because think about just us just teenagers nowadays. Well, nobody goes nowhere out their phone, bro. Would you like me to respond? I mean, you can't respond. I'm saying the average teenager don't really go nowhere out their phone, bro. But do you think they were drinking? Huh? Do you think they were drinking at all? Um, they could have been. They could have been for sure. So you you know how many times I've just dropped, oh yo, your phone, yo, when I'm into like we're like the the way the context that it's saying, bro, is like, oh, he just left it. He could have just been on some like, yo, in the motion, in the matrix, you know what I mean? Just left it on some like, you know what I mean? But like also you have to look on the other side of the spectrum, nobody's gonna leave their phone. I get it. I do get that part. Nobody, nobody's like, once you realize you don't have your phone, you're probably trying to do everything to get that joint back. Most of you are you are, you are, or if you know where it's at, it's like, oh, it's here. Like, all right, I'll go back. Like, I don't know how what like how far Horn Island and and the boat is. But I hear what you're saying on that. My pushback is just like, even if you did leave it, I think a person's first reaction was like, yo, I need to find my phone. The other day when I was out, I was out, I was out on Friday. Right. I was out on Friday, I left my I left my joint the Uber. Right. Left my joint in the I left my joint. That Uber's going somewhere, you don't know. But the first thing I did was I patted my pocket, I called that joint. He came back. That's that was the first reaction. Like, yeah, you could, yeah, you could accidentally leave something, but your first reaction is gonna be, yo, I need my phone I need my phone. I need my phone, but I need my phone. I'm calling it and they'll spin the bottom, come get in if you're if your phone was on a boat with your friends, how hard is it to pick up, ask some, yo, can I make a call to one of my friends who can left the phone to boat? Again, how what how far is the boat in the island? But that doesn't how why would that make a difference? It's obvious. Versus to what your analogy is way off, you don't know where that car's going. That's going somewhere to the abyss in actuality. But you can still make the call though. So I'm saying, like, in his case, if the boat is like right there and next to the island, it's like, oh my shit's there. Like, I know it's in a safe space, I can go get it whenever. I disagree. I don't think that's a thought process. Yeah, I don't think it's a thought process. That's like that's like saying, like, wherever you're gonna be able to do it. If you're going to the matrix boat, you're not just leaving that jump nowhere, bro. Is that their boat? Like, what do you like? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But still, bro, that's like that's like saying I'm going downstairs, we're chilling. Oh, I left my I left my phone upstairs. I'll get in the minute. Nah, it's not like that. Yeah, it is in between. If it's our stuff, it's like it's like we're in the compound and you going, you going out for the night. You I'm here, all of us are here. Y'all, bro, I'm about to go on a mission real quick. You need that. You leave your phone here? You'll be like, even if you went on your mission, but I need to get back to the phone. It's not far if they're boating back and forth. I'm saying if it's on the boat, like the boat could be on the dock right next to the island. That's what I'm saying. But not it's not dock because they left. They said they left wherever they're like, it's like far like at least a mile or whatever. That's what I'm saying. These are the like the like the nuances, the nuts and boatses of like this whole situation that we're just picking out of. I feel you. Like, you gotta really think about it. I'm thinking of the boats right there to where he's on the island, just posted up, chilling, doing whatever he does, and he can go back into the boat, hop on, and just grab what he grabs and leaves. True. I'm gonna read I'm gonna read some more of the uh like details of the book. You know, like the outer banks, bro? Yeah, yeah. Like, you know how people like kids or whatever they not kids, but like teenagers. I know what you mean. Like college kids, they they can they drive the boat, like they'll have the boat on the dock and do and then Right, right, right. That's what I'm saying, bro. Cause it's because it says, and then we'll close the segment out, but like um it says um his phone remained on the boat that he and his friends had arrived on. Um his friends have said it was common for people to leave their phones on the boat to avoid getting them um wet while swimming or partying. Um it said, according to Warren Hudson, who has identified himself as Nolan's best friend, um, no one was carrying or using Nolan's phone. It said Hudson says the phone was simply moved from the boat to a truck after they returned uh to the mainland and was later turned over to the family of another friend before eventually being returned to Nolan's parents. Hudson has denied that anyone in the group accessed or deleted anything from the phone. It says, why is the phone controversial? It says no one's parents say that when they received the phone, they noticed that photos, videos, and Snapchat activity they expected to see from July 4th were missing. It says they believe the phone could contain important evidence and have requested an independent forensic examination. Hudson disputes those concerns. It says no one in the group had no one's passcode or tampered with the vice. Authorities and the family experts have agreed to conduct a joint forensic inspection of the phone. So I guess that's like one of the biggest pieces to the puzzle right now. When it comes to just trying to see what was going on that day, conversations, videos, photos, anything that was going on that day. So I want to bring it bring that to the attention of the audience because it's a big story that's going on. A lot of people are trying to figure, figure out that. And like a lot of conversations going up, it's like, should parents be worried about who their friends go on trips with, whatever it may be. Absolutely. And I believe they should. I believe they should. But like in the same sense, that people are trying to blame, blame his parents for allowing him to go on this trip. I'm like, I don't think you can blame the parents for that because you can't. You can't, because one, you don't, you're not gonna expect that to happen. Unfortunately, like whatever position that he it sounds harsh, whatever position that he put himself in, like, in ways he has to take accountability for it. That too, and I was gonna but I was also gonna say, like, you can't really blame the parents because obviously, like, if he went on a trip, his parents felt comfortable enough to allow him to go these people as well, too. It goes down to the kid, bro. So it'll be interesting to see how things pan out. Um you can only do oh so much as a parent, you know what I mean, to kind of prevent certain things. Once they get to a certain age, you know what I'm saying, like the teenage and like the the early 20s, right? They're gonna be independent, bro. Like you're gonna have to, like, just it's gonna be hard. But you gotta just trust that you installed certain values and morals. Yeah, you know what I mean? Like, you gotta trust that they won't fall into like peer pressure or whatever the case may be. Agreed. Um the last topic I want to talk about on the Monday Rundown News. Um, for the main stuff that we got, Chris Brown, man, he's back in the news. But he's on tour. Yeah. He just he just pleaded guilty to um um array of charges stemming from a 2023 night club altercation. Right. Um, after prosecutors dropped a more serious um assault-related charges. And it says because of his legal obligations and setting his schedule, there are concerns that he could miss a significant portion of his co-headlining RB tour with Usher. Um, though organizers have not confirmed it. So the biggest question is can Chris Brown's career survive another like allegation like this when it comes to one, he's on tour. Yeah. He's missing all these dates. It's been a big headlining thing. I mean, at the end of the day, go ahead. No, that's that was that I'm saying, I mean, at the end of the day, it's like you gotta understand it like this, like he has a he has loyal buyers to where it's like they don't care if Chris Brown is unfortunately committing battery, assault, domestic violence, theft, robbery. He already has an ecosystem to where it's like he can people always still drop what they're doing to go listen to Chris Brown, unfortunately. You're not wrong. Unfortunately, unfortunately, however you want to think about it. I mean, I got no stake in this race. It's just like, I mean, it's what it is. I mean, but now it just comes down to okay, Chris, all these lawyer fees, all the all this stuff, you're just gonna be tied down more and more into label obligations, and you're really gonna have no freedom. Yeah. Because all that money that you're putting out, bro, you're gonna have to make another hit go on tour forever. Yeah. Um, I mean, I mean I mean, it's guess I guess it's good for Usher. I mean, buddy gets close to the shows now. I mean, yeah, it's good for Usher, sure, for sure. But who loses out more? The the fans, Chris, or or like the promoters in these venues and stuff? I mean really the promoters, because they're paying for two, and if they only get one, now they're getting shorted. I mean, now, I mean, if they I mean tickets are tickets, but people pay, they're they're buying some people are there to purely see Chris Brown. Right? They are so if they don't see Chris Brown, do you think they're gonna go? No, um, I I agree with you that the the promoters and I guess the venues too, because they're losing out on that money outside of tickets, like when they're spending money in the venue and all that tubs, too. I think the fans miss out a lot too, because they're spending that hard-on bread to go see Chris. They may not get it, they might not get that refund because it's like still one of the sporting nets that's still coming. Yeah, unless they put bring somebody else that that magnifies Chris Brown's order. Which they're not going to. They could. They gotta find somebody though. Who? Who else is gonna headline like that? People are gonna come to see Chris Brown and Usher. Bruno Mars. Nah, not to that demonstration. Performance-wise, though, bro, yeah, you never know. Not to the Chris Browns fans. Nah, Bruno Mars. That's not, that's not, that's not, that's not. I hear you. In terms of performance-wise, yeah. But in terms of like who fans would want to see instead of Chris Brown, you say. Silksonic, bro? Oh, Chris Brown's not showing up, but we got Silksonic for you. Yeah. What you want? What do you want? No, I'm telling you. That live, bro, that shit goes crazy. They're coming to see Chris shake a leg, do his thing on the stage, Miguel. Caress somebody. Miguel. That might be a different story. There's people that like trade off with him, but it's just, yeah, they are there to see Mr. Brown. If I'm Chris Brown Usher, am I um postponing the dates that I'm circling back or what? Uh I mean they probably, if they were to postpone it, they could all shift it all into fall. Like push back to further into fall, going into like the new year. If they were to do it. Yeah, I mean I think it's supposed to end like what? Last days, like in December? Yeah, I think it goes into winter time. So you're going to next year. You said what? If they were to like just because there's they're probably they probably have off days. True. But I feel like it'd be hard to reschedule because just like the venues that they have, the magnitude and all that type of stuff. It's like they're doing a stadium tour, so it's like them days, it's gonna be difficult. Yeah. It's gonna be difficult. Just booking out this those venues. Yeah. That's really what it is. It's not more so the dates, the days. Yeah. Booking out the booking out the venues, making sure you have the proper staffing, as it'd say, yeah, to get the job done, to make the concert the concert. Yeah. Because easy to bring one person, but we gotta realize it's a bunch more other people probably on multiple different projects if it gets rescheduled. Yeah. But if they're paying, they'll figure out and find a way and build it out. It's a lot of money that could be potentially lost. Absolutely. Um I know so that was the last story, but Earl Spencer's retiring, bro. I mean, good. He needs to stop. He almost got his eyeside, get busted by uh, well, one bud, but his last fight, he got punched off the fight. Yeah, he fought, he fought this um Saturday and he got punched into the retirement. Um It's alright, man. He had a good run. He had a great payday off that Terrence Crawford butt fight. He had a great run prior to where he made a name for himself, but like he's not in the conversation as one of the greats. Yeah, and but but that's the butt effect. That's the butt effect, bro. Because before he was. He was good. He was good, he was good, but he was he's he was never in my top like status for as far as killers. True, but the but the masters were saying he's pound for pound at the time. Before he walked to the arena with before he walked to the arena with Bud. No, he was. They said the only thing that was holding him back was no pound. Yeah, right. He got off in car accident. He got off injury, and then what? And he got and he got punched on. He did get punched on. It was bad. Real bad. Well looked like Martin again. Um, but he had a great career. He had a great run. You can't be mad. Like he had a great run. He had titles. He he he like you said, he he fought the top of his class. Um it's honorable, bro. A lot of people can't do that with Bud. But and he tried to come back. He tried. The fact that he tried to walk the walk, god damn it, you gotta be happy about it. You know what's crazy? As good as a boxer is, we're giving him consolation prizes. Sometimes the difference between good and elite, bruh, yeah, you gotta you gotta separate the two. Everybody can't be in S-class status. Yeah, his name's not gonna ring through boxing world for the elite. If you're a boxing fan, you'll know him. But if you're if you're if you're a world-class general consumer in the boxing world, you won't remember him. Yeah, it's not gonna echo, it's not gonna echo through the speakers, man. It's not gonna echo through the etches of time. Um, but that doesn't that doesn't negate what he's done. Like you said, you had a great career, you did your thing, and that's and that's what you can ask for. Um you got anything else for me today? Any other any other pressing stuff that you want to talk about? We'll save it all that, those parts for next week. Get more as we get more storyline on specifically that Alabama human trafficking thing. Yeah, the Alabama joint, that's kind of crazy. We're gonna talk about that next week because that's all I gotta say on that on that one is uh to keep it open-ended. When the tides change, a lot of things change. When Saban was there, things were buttoned up and filled away. It's a different era. As we all could tell. Yeah. Now we got this guy. We don't want to say his name too much because the moment we start saying his name, then lights start flickering and shit. The ore changes, the energy shifts. If you say his name, this stuff starts to happen. You say his name two times in the mirror, the boogeyman pops out, huh? We just gotta figure it out. It's almost, it's almost August is right here, knocking at our door, literally. Yeah, literally. Isn't that crazy to think about? It's right here. Football season is right here. It's right here. It's football season. It's time. It's time. It's time to where it's like we've got to really settle down, strap our boots, get ready to go for this war because we got a lot, we got an uphill battle this year. There's a war outside. Especially fighting for this SEC championship. It's real, it feels like that real old blue blood SEC college conference football this year. We don't know who's gonna win. You don't? We don't. There's no clear favorite in SEC. You got Georgia. You got Texas. You got AM. Mmm. You got Lane Kiff and over in L SU. Mmm. You even got old Miss that might come around and do some things. You got Bama. Mmm. Tennessee there too. There's some there's some squads in SEC now. There's some squads in SEC now. Oklahoma? Mmm. I forgot about O using. I be forgetting OUs and. We the strongest conference, bro. Like, like like we said, like Kerber said. The reason why these teams are you know slipping through and like beating us is because we we really beating beating ourselves during these bouts, week in and week out. So we just gotta be battle tested through and through. Yeah. Because it's gonna be a good one. But I'm gonna leave it off down. I'll let you I'll let you close on your monologue like that. That's all I got for episode 295. Roll to 300. Shout out to the compound, shout out to the finish league. It's your boy, Millie. I got rocket in the building with me. Peace. Peace. Oh my god. Is that the faces?
