SPEAKER_12

How y'all doing that day today? You know the voice, it's your boy the Billy. I got rocket here with me. Roller 300. Someone, somewhere so many you ain't happy. Just bobble the shop to the compound, shop to the phoenix league.

SPEAKER_06

Shop to the little listeners.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. Is that the faces of the future? Welcome to episode two ninety-one of the Faces of the Future podcast. It's your boy Millie. I got Rocket in the building with me today. How you doing today? And that's why CB's the closer. What do you mean? On the tour? Yeah. Bro, CB is. That's a vibe. That's a record.

SPEAKER_13

CB's still making heck, bro.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. I think he's been closing on the tour. I've been seeing some clips go around. Oh, okay. I think he has been the closer from what I've seen. I mean, I haven't seen too much, I haven't seen too many clips of like, you know, Usher's performances. I've seen some clips of uh of CBs, though. I see some clips of CBs though. Trying to tell you. CB's a big artist. He's a tier, he's a tier above. Yeah. Respectfully?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, yeah. I mean, it's two Titans, but it's like, yeah, CB's still putting out stuff at a high clip. Yeah. That's a newer record, too. You gotta really think about it like I mean, do you think C B's really in the media like that? Nah. That's what I'm saying. Like, compared to like his peak. Yeah, he's not in the media like that. He's not in the media like that. To where it's like he's still putting out good music. Yeah. Like, did he ever really f like fall off? No. Musically, no. Musically, no. Like we talked about in the past. I mean, like we talked about the past, we said just that bad rep that he had from the situation with Rihanna kind of just put a little stain on his on his on his, I guess, uh appearance to the public, to the media, but people really care though? But but musically, musically, I don't think so. I mean I mean, yeah, it was a hot topic, but I'm saying like did people really care? They still were going to see C B. They're still going to see C B. I'm just saying in general, I'm saying like musically or just like I'm saying like perception-wise, you think, oh, C B's this or that, but like his music is pretty much undeniable. Like when it comes to like making quality music. I mean, what do you think? Do you think he took a real a real stand or not really? Nah. I just feel like if anything, the media kind of went away from him. Like just stopped like showcasing him in the public eye. Or like covering his music when it drops. That's what it seems like. Yeah. But I mean, you still have like his core fans and still gonna buy his albums and go to his concerts and try to do his meeting greets. So I mean, like, they're dropping a stack on that. Like I said, does it really like fall off? I mean, the public eye, maybe, but like in real time, probably not. No, that's true. And I think that just goes back to like our theme of like we talk about on the shows and stuff like that, of like traditional media um not really holding as much weight as it used to. Because like if they want to see what CB's doing, they can go directly to his page or whatever and see like what he's on, his music. They don't really have to trust what like the mainstream saying about him on a day-to-day basis. Nah, that's a major fact. Yeah. I mean, you think that's better for artists? What? Like, say, like say when, say, like if something, a good example. I'll just use CB as an example, like, you know, the baby, um, remember he said the whole stuff about like gay people at uh at one of the festivals, people try to cancel him, but he really didn't cancel because his music's still going number one at the end of the day. I mean, do you think that's because like social media and people can just go to the source that they want to listen to as opposed to like seeing what they're doing on day-to-day and and not take what the media says for face value? I mean, in a way, I guess it's better and get you to, you know, to be able to like go to their profile and see what they're doing on a day-to-day. But I mean, I don't know. I feel like I kinda like some sickness of you have to go to like the radio platforms and not just like the radio platforms with the certain outlets to kind of like speak about what's going on because it's like it kinda like funnels everybody to like one spot to where it's like, okay, we're looking for this. To where it's like sometimes when you do have that you know accessibility to see everything what they're doing, it's like alright, it's a little too much, and then it kind of like I don't know, I feel like it it devalues the artist. But but I'm saying more so in the same way, like if you're if you're facing like what you're saying in that standpoint. I'm saying more so though, if we're talking like they're trying to cancel you in the public eye. And like like back in the day where the whole like C B Rihanna situation happened, like everybody's only taking the media from like if they're going to like a tabloids, like a DMZ or whatever it may be, as opposed to like on social platforms, you're not really able to like nowadays someone will come out on a statement and go on live and explain what really happened or whatever. As back then it's like, like you said, you have to go to a radio station, whatever it may be. But do you that's why I was asking, do you think that the social media aspect helps someone's career because they can just be direct to consumer and maybe explain what happened if they're facing like a case like that where they're being canceled, as opposed to like having to wait to go on like a press tour to explain something or wait for a radio station to take your interview. Like, do you think that holds more value? I mean, obviously it's better for the artists where they can just go out and speak on whatever's going on. But I mean I don't know. I think it's a case by case. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Because I mean, sometimes it's probably not the best for a person to just go off a pure emotion and say, okay, I'm on my live, this is what happened, X, Y, and Z. Yeah, versus going to a platform and it's like kind of like structured and you know what's being asked and you can kind of like plan for. Yeah, I think I agree that. Yeah, and like going to say you're going to like a breakfast club or something like that, it's a respectful platform where they're just not gonna, you know. Yeah, you try to be too messy. I mean, they're gonna but they're probably gonna be able to. They're gonna ask the questions, but you know it's gonna be a genuine conversation. I mean, I might you don't think so? I mean, you never know. You don't know. Genuine by genuine, but I mean like they're gonna ask the hard they might ask the hard questions. Like they might try to like get to the story of it. Yeah, no, I think they might ask the I mean a few of them probably would ask the questions, but I don't think they're gonna like to continue to dig in into the that's interesting. I think nowadays they might try to. Just before for the clip. Yeah, no, I mean that's like I said, the situational depending on who it is. Yeah. I mean, yeah, I was just thinking about that. Um at least when it can't when it comes to like you the question you were asking about uh CB still gonna play or whatever. He definitely is, bro. Absolutely, especially when in the springtime and summer comes around. Yeah, and did you did you um see Kanye's performance like the clips of Kanye's performance that he had yesterday? I d I I didn't see the clips, but I saw like pictures and stuff. Yeah, bro, it's crazy how um on the 4th of July um he held a like another pop-up concert, sold out dates, I think it was in Texas somewhere. Um Stadium was full, bro. People, people, people said F F what's going on when America 250, I'm gonna go see Ye. Like, I'm not I'm not watching the fireworks. Those these are my fireworks. Right. Right. I mean, absolutely. I mean, at the end of the day, people people fail to forget. Like, Kanye is really a top performer, which I'm not saying people fail to realize, because people should know. But it's just like, I mean, what else to do if if you're near that venue and you like Kanye, go see him. You go you're gonna you're gonna go watch the fireworks or you're gonna go to the Kanye concert. Probably a concert, bro. The concert's probably gonna be more it's gonna be more of an attraction for me to go than watching fucking damn fireworks go in the sky. True. I don't really like fireworks like that. I'm not really pre- I mean, granted, it's a family affair, but I'd rather go see Kanye, if you ask me. Yeah. Shit. I mean, I I like a lot of majority of his music. It's more electrifying. Yeah. And then you get to see the whole production of what he's doing. Yeah. So I mean, yeah. Miss me on the miss me on the fireworks shit. Before we jump into today's Monday run on news, you get into anything for the holiday weekend? It was too hot for me. I mean I was in the doors in the AC. Yeah, I was like, you know, eating with the family and stuff like that. I mean, nothing too crazy. Yeah. I know the young boy uh went to the poganoes. Okay, okay. You think the snow's melted up in that junk? Apparently they have like don't they have like artificial snow or some shit? I don't know. I I don't know. Yeah, yeah. Apparently you can still go like tubing and stuff in the poganoes right now. That's crazy. How did they how did they even pull that off? I don't know. I don't unless it's like indoor. It might be indoor. Because I'm just thinking, like in the poganos or even like somewhere in the mountains, if it was hot as it was um this weekend, because it was like what, 100 plus degrees? Felt like 110. Yeah, bro. It was like 100 and people were like, you gonna go to the FIFA fanfest? You gonna go to the to the one Philly concert? I'm like, nah, bro. Too many people outside. It's too sticky outside. There's no breeze, bro. There's no there's no breeze at all. It's like it was hot, bro. Say you'd rather it be hot than cold. I mean, uh I mean you saw me sitting outside earlier. I couldn't, yeah, I can't do that, bro. I I really thought I really thought about it, bro. Even in the shade, it was hot. Nah, I mean, to be honest with you, when it was in the shade and you just sit still and you be cool. It's it's not really crazy. Oh well. You said it's not what it's not really crazy. Um let's jump into today's Monday rundown news. Um, there's a lot of stuff to discuss. Um shout out to the compound and shout out to the MBT Fantasy League about to start ramping that league back up soon. You know what I'm saying? Steve, we're waiting on you. Steve, we're waiting on you. What do you mean, waiting on me? We're waiting on you to make a move. All right, bet. I'm gonna have to enforce the law. We're waiting, I'm gonna have to enforce the law. Um First in first in the news, the the the big one of the biggest stories that happened, um, at least like in the sports world, um, Jalen Brown traded to the Sixers, man. I'm bringing this up because um we got a we got the big Celtics fan over here. Um so before we go into like your thoughts and my thoughts on everything, um, it says one of the biggest moves in the NBA offseason, it's official, Jalen Brown is headed to Philadelphia after spending 10 years of his career um in Boston. Um the Celtics set Brown to the Sixers in exchange for Paul George and two first round picks and uh two second round picks as well. Um it says it says Brown is coming off arguably his best season in his career, averaging 29 points per game while carrying Boston during um Jason Tatum's injury. Um they got bounced in the first round by the Sixers after the Sixers came back um from a 3-1 deficit. Um so that's one of the things that a lot of the Boston fans were saying. They don't get why they were trading to a conference rival. Um so what were your initial thoughts when you saw this news? Because it it kind of shook the NBA. I mean I told you he wasn't the face of the team. What you mean? They shipped him off first, right? They did ship him off first. They did ship him off first. Is my was my statement not on point? I can I can give you credit where credit was due at the same time. I mean when it comes to that shit not age like fine line. When it comes to play, when it comes to play, JB is JB's the guy. But they shipped the shit. So you're shipping your guy off? It was off the court shenanigans. You shipped the guy. Who cares, bro? I think that's why if he's the guy, they they gonna work something out. You think so? Absolutely. I mean, I think they tried to come to terms, but it just they just couldn't. So he sent his ass to the city. Based off of what he was saying on his on his little live on the stream, he said they weren't being respectable. He's too much, too busy streaming, bro. What do you mean? What's wrong with him streaming? Get back in the court, bro. He was an all NBA player. This is the this was the moment to show that you you own the team. I mean, he carried them for the majority of the season. You gotta take them to the promised land, bro. Be Tatum aka promised land by itself. We'll see if he's really, if Tatum's really a 1A. We're gonna see this year. He's what yeah, because all I all I'm not hitting on him. I'm saying all eyes on him. JB had his run. Like you said, they kicked him out. They kicked him out. So what happens? So what happens if like same things happen with JT and though? What? Did they get bounced in the first round? I don't think they're gonna get bounced in the first round. With the East the way the East is looking now? I don't know. Sixers don't jump to be in the favorite. I'm asking. I'm asking. The Sixers jump to be the favorite in the East. You gotta you gotta be in New York, right? I mean, does it have to be talent-wise? I mean, on talent-wise, the New York do they look like the they were the best team? I mean, yeah, this year they won, but I'm saying coming into the new season because they just lost their center. The center came to you guys to Boston. Uh-huh. Um Mitchell came to you guys. Uh-huh. So it's like the NBA is shaking up right now. It is. I'm going to say the Sixers are the front runners. The Sixers got a big three. Maybe call it a big four, kind of. They got Maxi and B. Now they got BJ and they got J B. So you think M B is gonna be healthy for the majority of the season? They definitely don't have a minute restriction.

unknown

Come on.

SPEAKER_03

They want him in the offs. They want him to play in the all. So they probably gonna you gotta position yourselves to get to the all. They are positioning themselves to get to the offs, though. My thing is with adding JB to the Sixers, in my opinion. No, it definitely compliments the team. Don't get me wrong. But allow but allow it allows it allows two first-round picks. True, but it allows Joel to take more rest. Because now you got you got two major scores, three? No, it definitely does allow Joel to take more rest, but I'm saying, like, at the end of the day, like, we gotta see if that chemistry works right. You think Paul George is gonna fit in as a puzzle piece? Nah, I mean, I think he's gonna be a bench player. You think he's coming off the bench? You think he's starting? We got two first-round picks. Yeah, that doesn't mean but what you mean? Yeah, they got two round first picks. Doesn't mean the first-round picks are playing. I mean, Boston's pretty deep in in terms of players, so that's what I'm saying. So, I mean, regardless, but PG don't gotta start. He can come off the bench and be a nice little six man. Yeah. I mean, it's it's literally gonna be interesting to see. I was I was honestly surprised. I was surprised that I said that Jalen Brown got traded. Would you give up two first-round picks and get what? A second round pick? You said what I would I give that up? Yeah. As a Sixers? I think the Sisters want to trade. Yeah, I'll do that for J B. For sure. For J B, I mean, that's I think the Sixers want to trade at the end of the day. Right. They got a lot for a little. Because the Sixers are trying to win now. Their window, their window is closed now. How many times have they been trying to win now? Say the last five, six years, maybe? So how many times are you gonna keep saying it? What you mean? Everybody's trying to win now. But I'm thinking like this is like the last thing. What are we talking about? We're talking about everybody's trying to win. We're talking about Embiid's on his last legs, though. We know this. He's been on his last legs. He hasn't been on his last legs. Yeah, yeah.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_03

When was the last time we touched the Eastern Conference Final? We lost to Toronto in now. 2019? Yeah. Yeah, but I'm talking about like You see what I'm saying? Yeah, it's been a minute. It's been a minute. I'm not gonna be pleased and Toronto just got quiet back. I'm trying to get the Sixers, I'm trying to shoot them some bail. No, there's no bail, bro. Ship his ass off, rebuild, bro. Really? Yeah, bro. Like, I mean, what is he doing? We ran the process already, huh? What good is he doing for that squad, bro? He's holding them niggas back. You think so? Absolutely. You think they'll be a bet did you you think you think the Sixers will be a better program without Joel M B. I mean, yeah. I mean, they're developing better without him. Yeah. They're getting pieces. I mean, yeah, they're it's more of a a guard led team. A hundred percent. But uh You can always find a big man. You think you think having a I guess a role player as a big man as opposed to like Joel who demands the ball will allow the sisters to play better? That makes sense. Yeah. Let these other boys play be creative. Yeah, I mean that's what I that's what I was saying during the playoffs last year. I said, because like Maxim, they was hooping without Joel. They was doing their thing, and then Joel, when he comes back in, it's like everything slows down. Slows down, you have to run offense through him. But like it's not a big man's. I mean, it is, but it isn't. How do you it's really not a big man's league anymore? It's not switching back to like the wing, like guard play. Yeah, I mean, like, you still got the big man that's hooping. But the guard play. But that guard play, that AAU balls back, baby. It definitely is. I'll say this, bro. The playoffs this past, it did feel like you was watching, like, it was more structured, but it's like it was a lot of up and down hoop. They were like really hooping. It was hooping, bro. We wasn't looking like we was at one of the AAU tournaments, you right? Trying to tell you. I think also because the league's like super young, too. Um exactly. All these young players are trying to like do new tricks and just go. That's 100%. What do you think about the off-court off the court stuff and how they're trying to like bash on JB's ego, um, saying that, oh, he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. Do you think it's warranted? Do you think it's wrong? Um, because I saw I saw a few clips about um they're about like these media heads saying that like they're talking to some of the execs in the league, and they're saying that's one of the reasons like nobody nobody wanted JB. They said he wasn't, they were trying to say he wasn't a top 50 player, but that's that's that's rubbish. That's that's not true at all. We know that's furthest thing from the truth. But I don't get why they they trying to talk down on him. Like I don't get it. Like if you it's a smart, that's a smart guy right there. I mean, obviously when you're fighting when you're going against the grain and going against the system, like is what it looks like. Yeah. Um They're gonna find ways to like bash you and devalue, devalue you so you know the price goes down.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But I mean, ultimately, hey shit, he's a smart ass man as far as I know. Doing certain things, you know, accomplishing certain goals outside the game to where you're you know, you have to give him his credit. Yeah. You know what I mean? And obviously, obviously he meant something to the to Boston too. Where you go, to Cal, Berkeley? Yeah, he went to Cal Berkeley, super smart school. Like, and something he was like in the science, right? Yeah, he he was in um it might have like bioscience, yeah, yeah. Shit. I mean, hey, it takes a lot to know a lot. Yeah, he's a smart dude, bro. That's a very smart dude. But I just I just hit it. I just nah, I mean, it you know how it goes during the trade period. Yeah. He's going somewhere new. So it could be Boston that runs, you know, put money into like bash JB and social media. Yeah, I think, I think, I think um I agree with that, and I think I think Philly's gonna embrace him. Do you think teams do that though? 100%. They try to devalue him. Devalue like his stock, whatever it may be, at the end of the day. So teams, like you said, it's it's hard, it's hard for him to get traded for, whatever it may be. But also So when he gets in the locker room, people have a certain perception of him. Yeah, but also when they do trade, though, sometimes they want, they want, they I mean, I don't now I'm thinking about it, I don't know. Because if you're Boston, what do you want to get the most from the trade as opposed to trying to devalue him and then people, oh, they hear this rhetoric about JB. This is after the trade's done. Huh? This could be after the trade's done. Nah, they were saying this is why it's so hard to get him in the trade, because I think um I think they wanted to get Giannis as well, but they didn't get to happen. That was part of it. Who? Miami?

SPEAKER_00

Boston.

SPEAKER_03

Boston not getting brawn. Boston's not getting brawn. You don't think so? Nah, they said they said the Sixers, Miami, the top two places right now. You going back to Miami is weird. It's obviously it's probably like Cleveland. It's probably, and then they said Miami and the Sixers. Because Rich Paul, he was on there talking about he had the whiteboard of all the teams. Yes, yeah. They have they had Maxi Starr. Yeah. If he came to Philly, what would that mean? I mean, Philly would be jumping, I will say. Shit. That there's some some sold-out dates, goddammit. Yeah, that's a basketball city nonetheless. It it really is. It really is. So, I mean, shit. I mean, if Bron goes to Philly, I mean, damn. You know, Philly's Philly is a big sports town, too. Yeah, Bron winds up in Philadelphia. Because you're gonna have Jalen Hurts and all them playing. Then you're gonna have, you said Braun and Maxie, woo, and Embiid, JB, all that's like that. Somebody gotta go, bro. What you mean? No, LeBron said he's willing to take the vet minimum. Oh, okay. He said, wherever he goes, that's what he says. He's probably trying to win a championship if he goes out. Shit, his best best goal in Philly playing with the mixture of them young guns and the vets. But what if he goes to Philly and they don't win a chip? He'd be the biggest bust. He's not number one. He's not he wouldn't honestly, bro. If Braun goes to Philly and he's not able to, you know, get a title for Philadelphia, then he's probably the worst greatest player of all time. The worst greatest player?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

What you mean? Bro, like you got all the tools to go win a chip.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You got the front court and backcourt, but now do they have a bench? They got a solid bench, bro. Yeah, it's where it's like they can spread them out minutes-wise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they must they made some acquisitions um so far in the offseason, too. But yeah, Bron came to Philly. See what I'm saying, though? Like, you you can't lose, bro. Yeah, Bronze, that'd be jumping. That'd be the city would be jumping. Like football season into basketball season. The full 82 games will be jumping. God damn. I ain't gonna lie, that LeBron jersey in the in the uh in the uh classic uh Sixers? Black? The classic black joint? Yeah, if we're rocking six. Wait, wait, wait. Actually, is six uh six probably six retired because he wear Dr. J, right? Yeah, he can wear 23. Damn. He's rocking that 2-3. That shit might be a little bit colder than the Bulls. You think so? Yeah, yeah. The um classic Sixers jersey, the black joint? The all blue. The blue joint go crazy. The alternate, the alternate blue? That shit would go crazy, bro. You think Bron deserves a farewell tour? Like COVID. Would that do more numbers than AIs? I don't know. A Bron Sixers jersey or AI Sixers jersey? Nah, AI, that's that's like that's a classic joint. That AI Sixers jersey. I'm saying, like, this is all right give I'm gonna give you more context. This is this is a Braun jersey. This is like his last lap, bro, his last shot. Like he's announcing this is his final tour. In Philly, yeah, it might. Damn. That's crazy. I'm trying, no, I'm trying to think. I'm trying to think. Hold on. I still think that I'm not I'm not gonna hold. I'll stand in toes. I think this is the Allen Iris is a classic jersey. Ron's last slap in Philadelphia, and he has a team to win. He's going out going out on top. Yeah. It might.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It might it might do crazy numbers. What do you mean it might, it will? Oh, yeah. I'm saying with comparison to AI. Like, is it uh that's what I'm saying? Is it gonna be as like iconic? I'm gonna it's not gonna be as iconic. I think numbers-wise, it'll probably do iconic-wise, nah. Really? Nah. That that Iverson three, that that joint is that that all white, it's not that all white LeBron jersey in Sixers? It's gonna be nice. I don't think that's oh no. You think it's gonna be more iconic than I? I'll probably get a LeBron jersey if he wants to get it though. If he gets the Philly. That's just actually clean. Yeah, that you have that joint up in the rafters? Nah, they can't retire his jersey. If he comes and wins a chip, you don't think he gets his number retired in Philly? Nah, bro. That's not his home, bro. I'm just saying it's not his home, bro. He brought he brought a chip to Philadelphia. That's that's a moment. Philly, Philly ain't been back. Philly been back in 01. They won a chip in 1980. Did they retire his jersey in LA? Well, he's not retired yet. They probably they they might they might put his number in the rafters. Nah, bro. So brought DeBron does Bron does You think DeBron deserves uh uh retired jersey in LA? You well, he brought him a chip, bro. Nah.

SPEAKER_13

Nigga, you know how many chips they got already?

SPEAKER_03

Sure, but he brought him a chip. He he he came there and did what he was supposed to do. Okay. I mean, you're the greatest player in the game right now. That's what you're supposed to do. So, so he only sounds like you don't shake LeBron, nah, bro. You don't think that 23 is gonna be retired around the league? Shit, it might, bro. It really might. Because isn't it retired in Miami? He wore six, but that's gonna get retired. They went back to back. Yeah, he's getting retired in Miami. He's getting retired in Miami, definitely getting retired in Cleveland. So LA is a no-go for him. LA's no, bro. Come on, like let's keep it doing. That's during COVID. During, I mean, granted, he he got the chip. Yeah. Like he got the chip, but like his time in LA wasn't remarkable. Would you agree? I mean, on the court, yeah. I'm not gonna say it was underwhelming, but like you said, it didn't really do much for the game, bro. You say it didn't do much for the game? No. What you mean? LeBron in LA wouldn't have. He did a lot for LA. They sold their company for 10 bill. Not because just LeBron. Because of LeBron, bro. Just because of LeBron. Because of LeBron, bro. Not the people behind him. Because of LeBron. Or before him. No, the comp the this the value of the company was was was low. He spiked that joint when he came. Yeah, it's LeBron fucking James. That's what I'm saying. We get it, but nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. It's because the whole resume of LA Lakers. He's not bigger than the fucking program, bro. I'm not saying he's bigger than the program. That's exactly what you're saying, actually. That's not what I'm saying. Exactly what you're saying. What I'm saying is LeBron came to LA. He stacked, he stacked that value back up. They're probably like three. Let's see how much they were worth before before uh LeBron got to LA. Cause what are you talking about? Like he's trying to act like LeBron's bigger than the program is crazy. How much was LeBron? How much was LeBron the Lakers? Yeah, this man's glazing. How much was the Lakers worth before and after LeBron? Probably they were probably worth 5.5 billion. I'll say when Bron was there, that makes perfect sense. 5.5 billion compared to the Contrash and it jumped to probably like 8 and a half to 10. Okay. It says Lakers valuation. So 2017, before LeBron, Kobe ever retired, the team was rebuilding. They were worth 3 billion. Year one with LeBron, they they um jump up to 3.3 billion. Then they go to first full year with LeBron in 2019. You want to chip? 3.7 billion. 2020, when they won a chip, it jumped to 4.4 billion. 2021, 4.6 billion. 2024, 7.1 billion, and they sold for 10 billion. So there's slow. Okay, so you just prove my point. It wasn't off because of LeBron. What you mean? Bro, they gradually got more money coming in. Because of LeBron, they were winning. The eyes back on him. They got media bit better media rights, better deals. I mean, because if you have LeBron on your stock's going all the way up because if Kobe still played the game today, like and he wanted another champion, he would do the same thing. So it's based on the player, right? Not the franchise. The franchise. The players. The players bring the value in there. Multitude of players, though. You said what? There's a multitude of players. It jumped 7 billion while he was there. Okay, LeBron James is the best player in the game, bro. That's all I'm saying. That's my whole point, is that like he's not like that's the reason why? It's not like when they fur No, no, no. It's not like it's not like when LeBron came, it went it went from 3.3 to 10. Happened over time because they got deals when he started playing. Yeah, again, if Kobe was there, it it would probably continue to go up higher and higher, and he'd get to 10. LeBron isn't bigger than the LA program. I think he is. No, he's not. I think LeBron is LeBron is more valuable than any franchise in the league. LeBron is more valuable right now than any more franchise in the league. In what way? If you say you don't need LeBron forever, put it this way. Put it this way. I'll put it like this. Put it like this. LeBron's agreed. He did, he, he, he, he, he, but he laid his groundwork, right? Put it like this. If you say, if you say, if you say the 76ers are coming, or 76ers are coming to Miami to play a game, call people to come watch. You say LeBron James is coming to Miami to play a game, everybody coming to watch. The ticket price is gonna go up. That's why I mean he's valuable than the franchises, bro. He moves the needle. I mean, he does. What's your point? He's not bigger than the fucking franchises, though. I disagree, bro. How is he not? If just based off that example, how is he not? Because if he keeps losing, LeBron James needs to retire. That's gonna be the next talk with the town. When's the last time LeBron James been to a championship? When he won the chip. 2019, okay then. It's been a little minute. 2020, actually, but yeah, it's been a little bit. Okay, so I mean, he's getting old. Every time Michael Jordan was playing, he was going to chips, bro. You're right. Except for when he's in Washington. How's the end of his career? He knew that. I feel that. Come on now. I feel that. Um, do you got any more on LeBron on LeBron, the JB, the NBA news, a lot of moving and shaking? I mean, nah. I mean, just we gotta stop acting like he's bigger than the program. Yeah, LeBron's bigger than the program? Yeah. That's how him and Rich Paul moving. Like they are the program. I respect it though, bro. I ain't mad at that. But like at the end of the day, like, they're not they if we're talking about him retiring to Jersey in LA, it's not happening. It shouldn't. Okay. Just shouldn't. I'm not mad at that take, but I feel like all the leaders of championship teams in Los Angeles have their jersey retired. So he was the leader of a championship team. So why doesn't he get Jersey in the rafter? That's all I'm saying.

SPEAKER_00

Hey.

SPEAKER_03

When you look across the board. That's that's that's my only that's my only point. That's my only point. Um, before we jump to some more uh Monday rundown news, um, let's jump into the face of the future song of the day presented by MBT Media. If you're listening to us on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, telephone to telephone about today's episode. The face of the future song of the day comes from Future's new project that's gonna release um this Friday coming up. Titled Radio of his off his uh next album called The Real Me. Once again, this is Radio from Future.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god. Is that the faces of the future?

SPEAKER_03

Once again, that was Future Radio. Um, I think this is lead single for his project, The Real Me. Um, I'm looking forward to a future project, man. Yeah, me too. I'm definitely I'm definitely looking forward to hear uh Pluto. Do you think do you think it's gonna be a mix of records? You think it's gonna be like on his on his um RB type, like lover boy type vibe? Because he said if you I don't know if you saw his little uh the story he put up where it was like a clip of him talking, I'm trying to find real love, like da da da da. So I don't know if he's gonna be on his on that type of was it Hendrix not the Hendrix Project Um that was on RB vibes? What's the one that he was on um like real RB vibes when he dropped the double, we dropped the two albums at once, like back in the day? I think it was Hendrix. Hendrix, yeah. Like he's gonna be on that type of type of um sound, or do you think it's gonna be more on his trap, like rapping? I think it's gonna be a combination combination of both. I think it's gonna be more like like player, but like not street music, but like you know, music they're gonna get you once you like get drippy and and you know go out. Yeah. I mean, do you think features at his best doing doing that type of music? He's better on his like RB with his pen, that type of thing. I mean, I think he's gonna do some RB. No, I'm saying, I'm saying, what do you think? I know you said that he's gonna do both. I'm saying, do you think he's the best at when he's doing like RB vibes? Do you think he's his best at when he's doing um more shit for the streets? It's kind of hard to say, honestly, because it's like if you say RB, then it's like you can pull up like Real Sisters, Free Co, you know what I'm saying, shit like that. True. But then if you say like shit like Free Co and Real Sisters, then you can throw the throw out like I don't know, uh what's a future song that's kinda like on a slower monotone? Um what's the record you got with uh do we got a record of Re? Um Top of my head I can't talk about. Like I'm I'm over here drawing a blank right now as if I like I don't listen to future and stuff like that. Yeah, that's why that's what I was asking. I know you uh uh coming out. I mean you said a monotone. I mean R and B by like uh Coming Out Strong with the Weekend, that's a solid record that's more on some like Yeah, yeah, I guess. I mean I mean when I think of like R B or like more of like a s like a slower like track, like too comfortable. It's not R and B, but it's more so like it's more of a slower future song to me. No, it is, it is. I wouldn't call I wouldn't I don't I w I wouldn't say that that's like RB, but it is a small slower joint for sure um when it comes to this catalog, but I mean nonetheless, um I'm excited to I'm excited to hear what he what he's gonna drop, bro. Um and some more music news. Um did you see that Pooh Sistie uh video of him holding Gucci at gunpoint? Um yeah, I did see that. Yeah, a bunch of people were talking about it for the for the um listeners that didn't hear the story. Um it says social media exploded after allegations surfaced involving Pooh Sheisty and Gucci Man Um with claims that Sistie held Gucci at gunpoint during a confrontation. Um the story quickly went viral, although many uh details remain unconfirmed, and conflicting reports are circulating online. Um fans immediately began debating uh the relationship between the two artists, their history, and whether the situation was being um exaggerated online. Um, I know they were having a big conversation. Pooh Shysti got out of jail about um him trying to get out of his contract with Gucci. Um and there were there were talks about this a while ago that happened, but then the video actually surfaced. Um and my my my question and just a conversation started for for us is what do you think about like these these artists moving this way? Like Shystee just got he just got out of prison. Um and if and up this is this is no different than like how we're talking about the football player as well, too. Like you're going and handling these situations where you could handle it a totally different way. Well, one, why are you recording this if you're even doing this? That's one. And then two, you know this is gonna you notice if you're posting this or whatever, it's gonna catch fire, and then you're gonna wind it back in jail. So you just got free. What's the point of this? I mean, why do you think he's moving like that? Why do you think like I don't understand? Yeah, I yeah, it is kind of crazy. He just got home from you know, like was he prison? Jail? Yeah, he was in jail, bro. He was in he was in prison. I don't know if it was a person that was part of his camp or somebody that was like part of Gucci and was scared and started taking a picture, but regardless, it's it's just like, yeah, bro, you're you're moving stupid. Like you're just lining yourself up to go right back into the into the box. Yeah, a hundred percent. And and another question I want to pose is like you know how we talk about separating the art from the music or like art becoming reality. Like, do you think we see this happen more frequently in like the hip hop space? Um, when it comes to like now these artists are really living out their their lyrics in the public eye, as opposed to like you know, maybe early 2000s, they're rapping about it, but we don't really see as much going on. Yeah, I think it it's it's it's all because like we're in an age of you know, if you stay relevant, you'll get more subs, you'll get more deals and stuff like that, to where everybody's just trying to be in front of the camera. Now, in the pushhenki situation, I don't think he really was trying to be in front of the camera with all that shit. But at the same time, like you gotta know your surroundings, bro. Like, it looks like he was in like a public building.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

To where, like, there could be cameras, anyways, to where it's just like like I said, he's just lying himself to to go right back in the box. Yeah, and I and I don't think you're not getting out of this one. Like, when it comes to the city, I mean I don't think he might drop the charges. But I don't think it's necessarily just on Gucci, though, because this the judge, because he's on an echo monitor, he's on probation, so it's like that's what I'm saying. Like, you you already out, and they're trying to see if you're gonna mess up, but on top of that, you like you said, you don't know, we don't necessarily know who allegedly like recorded everything, but regardless of the fact, it's like you're not you're not moving correctly. If I'm him, I'm not even being on the scene. Yeah, I mean that's just me personally. Yeah, he has the like I said, like you said, he has the money to get somebody else to handle that for him, honestly. Yeah, and I think there was there was text messages that allegedly like dropped of him, like our reason people said there's a bunch of people that in this camp that said, I'll go handle it for. Whatever it may be. But he probably felt disrespected in his mind and said, I gotta go handle it myself. Yeah, I mean, if you're in a record deal like that, I mean I don't know what their deal actually said, but like, is that is that your first course of action you're trying to go to court with it? Like you said, uh it all depends on like what the situation was because it's like if it's on some shit like he got like fucked over, yeah, maybe like to where he can't go anywhere else, he can't sign anywhere else without him getting some sort of cut or some sort of income. Right. Yeah. A lot of people probably have done that, crashed out for their deal being in a bad situation situation. 100%. I don't knock that out. I mean, I don't doubt that at all. But it's interesting to see. Um, because it went viral. But sticking on like um like everybody doing stuff for the camera, um Dean and uh Dean the Great and uh A B, um they've been good, they've been catching like a lot of traction lately on the socials, um, obviously with the storyline about A B being one of the greatest boxers to ever touch a ring in this era, going down to becoming like an alcoholic, losing everything, being out of shape. Um, and if you see the clips of like there's a lot of controversial things that go on in their streams. And I wanted to ask you um about one, we know some of this stuff that streamers do or scripted or whatever it may be, but do you think he's so far into that streaming matrix where that's really him? Or do you do you think that he knows um acting the way he's acting can get allow them to be like clip farmed, allow them to get traction, allow them to get dollars based on advertisement and views, or do you think, like I said, do you think he's just too far in it? Um I think that's really him. Really? You know, when he gets like lit and like drunk and all that stuff. I think that's really him. I think he's really probably a truly a character. You know what I'm saying? But I feel like at the same time, you can kind of see with that light switch. What you mean? Like, when certain shit goes on, especially when he's like gambling, whether he loses or doesn't lose, you can tell like okay Adrian Brown's right there. You know what I mean? Like he get dead ass serious, like stuff like that. Or like if he sees, I guess recently, like if Dean said, oh, like Dean was saying, like, oh, you gotta pay for everything, da da da. I'm paying for everything. And then A B was like, yo, what I told you I'm gonna get you back. Why are you making it like this? But you stuff like that. You can tell when he's in character and out of character. Yeah. I I won't disagree with that. I won't disagree with that when it comes to um just him, like either like you said, being in character or being character. I think sometimes like I think he loses control of himself. Um like I said, I don't know if that's like he knows what's gonna like on the positive side of him getting like the views and money. He knows what comes with it. That's what we think he does. So he's willing to push it to the limits because he just knows because he even said a couple times I ain't never made this much money off of just like joking around and stuff like that in my life. Yeah, yeah. He said, This is easy. He said, I don't gotta train, I don't gotta do nothing. Right, yeah, he definitely did say that. That's crazy. So, how how far is too far though, when it comes to this? Like, do you think he's gonna be able to like last? Are you drinking every day, your health, all that type? Because bull's out of shape. Yeah, bull's out of shape. Like he was telling Dean that he was saying, like, if you really want to like get trained and stuff like that, you gotta stop acting like working out in a gym for 15 minutes is gonna do anything, and then go back to the house and drink and party. Like and you're asking me for help, but at the end of the day, I'm not the one that's fighting in the ring for you. Yeah, like it has to be you that gets up every day and runs three, four miles. Then AB will like I I've been four-time world champ before. To where it's like he was saying if he really wanted to lock in, he can lock in. He like it just gotta be obviously he's looking for that fight to you know, probably to lose all that weight. Yeah, I think I believe so. Like, you gotta think about it. Like, if he's not preparing for a fight, it's kind of like what's the point? I might as well keep streaming. Yeah, yeah, because also, also, when it comes to that too, um, how how he was telling Dean that he needs to um really lock in. He was saying, like he said, he's been four-time champ, he's he's done all the party and while he was in camp and still got up and did what he's supposed to do. He said, he not he told Dean, like you said, he's not serious about it. Nah, yeah, because that's what I'm saying, you really saw AB get serious. He's like, he said, yeah, that's why he kept it to me on the stream. He was like, that's why my coach kicked me out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Kicked us out. Because he said, Yeah. He said, I love you, nephew, but y'all not serious. Yeah. And and and on top of that, he said, he he said, uh, yeah, boxing one of them sports that you can't play. You can't play around with this sport. Yeah, I almost died out there. Yeah, he said you can't play around with boxing. Like this is this is one of the sports you can't play around. You gotta be serious. Um, and that's the and in that you hit it right on the head, bro. Like, anytime he talk talks about boxing, you can see him, like that's that's that switch. Yeah, you know what I mean? Because even when he's messing around drunk and he gets into that mode, like he's just bobbing and weaving, or like he's he's showing, he's showing um Dean how to throw like a hook or whatever. It's like, yeah, everybody, every people in the comments were like oh, you should see why he's a champion or why he was a champion, he still got it. Yeah, just out of shape. And Dean's getting mad because oh, you train your kids and stuff like that. He said, I can train everybody, yeah. But it's it's on you to really put in the work and put in the pain. Yo, now that we're thinking about this, I think this is part of like the art, their story that they're gonna kind of tell. And this is me just going on a whim in terms of prediction. I know it's live streaming, I know the like in character. I think this goes into, and you can tell me if you agree or not. This goes to him being like the drunk mentor, it's gonna slowly fade in him getting back into shape to fighting, and then also Dean, Dean, like, gonna kind of like help him as well, too. And Dean's gonna get his first fight, and that's where the bag's gonna come. I think that's all stuff part of their plot and part of the storyline. Nah, I'm also Mr. Miyagi, like, obviously, Mr. Miyagi wasn't a drunk, but like he's like Nah, yeah, nah, that's that's definitely what they've been saying on stream. They were saying, like, yeah, I mean, I'm gonna be a hundred percent streamer, and like Al Heyman and all these people are calling me because obviously they're bringing the views.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You know what I'm saying? And like he was saying, I'll be the main event, and then Dean will be the co-main. That'd be in if they stream that their whole their whole like the whole point from when they say they do sign a deal, them training, their vlog, they're streaming the training all the way up to getting to actually stream the actual fight. How much do you make off of that? Uh they make a lot, but you gotta think about it, personalities collide and people, because you gotta think about it like this. Like, Dean is essentially the one who's putting it all together, meaning like getting them on stream, showing them how like the kick world works. Yeah. But A B's already the person who already has like the fame and probably knows like a lot of A-list celebrities just because he was a four-time world champion. Right. So I was like, it's a yin and a yang. But like now that they're both probably getting money now, Eagles might intertwine. For sure, it's already happened a few times. Like, yeah, AB's an old head, but he's still, as you can see, young at heart.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You know what I mean? Because he's what, like 35? Yeah, he's probably a little older than. I'll see how old he is right now. Yeah, he's really not that old. Not that old. Yeah. Like he looked old, but he really is not that old. And Dean's like 21? 23? Do you think if they if they wind up getting a fight? Yeah, he's 36. Um, he's yeah, he's not that old at all. Yeah. Um, if they did wind up getting like a main event fight, like, say, like, it might not be a title fight, the first one, but I mean it could be based on just the stream views. Like, who who do you think one gets like the media rights when it comes to that? Do you think they're gonna stream it through kick? Do you think do you think Adrian Bronner and Dean are uh A side on the same contract versus like whoever the boxing promoter is? They're probably two different deals.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

There's Dean's bag, and you have A B's bag versus Dean and A B. So who's whose bags more? In boxing, A B. But in the streaming world, you want to see A B, bro. He's more of a character, bro. Yeah. Yeah. People want to see A B. They want to see if this drunk ass man can get back in condition. Like, really think about it. What's Dean's act? No offense. Dean's just he's just a crash out. He gets mad and he's the Patrick star. You SpongeBob, you're a Spongebob or you're Patrick, bro. I ain't gonna lie. A B's Patrick and Spongebob, bro. He's both real talk. Yeah. I mean Dean's a great orchestrator. I'll give him that. Yeah, he set everything up. But like, see, in business, that's how, like you said, the eagle part. Like, he thinks he's A side, bro. He keeps like that's how he acts in the videos, like, yo, I'm the one, I'll set all this down. You can do it on your own. A B's like, Alright. Alright, you gotta think. People are like if you really wanted to have a hold on him or whatever, like you would have that shit been locked down and booked away before you guys even put that camera on A B. Naturally, some people just have that or A B is one of them in the streaming world. Like, you know what I'm saying? For this type of work, bro, he he he works perfectly. Yeah. And he's and he's like you said, he's not new to this because like he knows he knows how to promote fights. He knows how to promote fights. Yeah, sorry, Dean. He's been getting million-dollar checks. Yeah, he's a four-time world fighter. Yeah. World champ fighter. Yeah, sorry, Dean. You side B, bro. He's been I mean, he that's the thing. Dean's thinking that just because you set up his kick and put the camera in place and got his stuff, like, that made him side A. But like, the moment you gave up the sauce. Because he sees everything. He sees all the cameras that it takes to operate. Yeah, he probably knows how to set it up. He's not an idiot. AB's not dumb, bro. Yeah, and it because he because they were arguing over um, it wasn't even a it wasn't even a uh a boxing, I think it was another streaming. They were like, Oh, we'll come to their you stream on their platform for exclusive for a certain amount of episodes. Dean got mad. He said, Why are you doing deals without me? He said, bro, it's a bag. Like, I got 10 miles, I got 10 kids to feed. Yeah, like they was arguing over. Dean's the one that wants to make all the deals, so it's like hey man. I don't know, but I hope I hope I hope that that that storyline continues, the art continues where they actually do wind up signing a deal to fight somebody. I tune into that. You do. I tune into that 100%. Um moving along, um, FIFA, man, round 32 started. Um you watched a bunch of great games um this past week. Um the craziest game I would I would personally say was the uh Capa Verde game versus Argentina. It took a lot of people by storm because they're they've been the underdog and facing the defending world champs. Um was going back and forth. Uh Messi had a Messi had a goal. Um, but the goal, the the story, the storyline was that that the goal that Capa Verde um scored a tie an extra time. And um the player from the team, he didn't he didn't celebrate none of his fans. He went directly to his girl, I think it was his girlfriend in the stands. Oh, yeah, yeah. And everybody, there's a big conversation around like if you score like your first ever World Cup goal, you celebrate your team, or you're gonna go find your lady, your family member in the stands, like he did. I run to my girl. You think so? Nah, I'm running to the I mean depend. I don't know. It depends on the moment. It just depends on the moment, bro. Like his situation going into the game, the nuance of like the atmosphere, it just all depends, bro. Yeah. It just depends. Like, if he was emotional for a reason to where he had to go to his girl, bro, it makes sense. But like typically, like, I would celebrate with my teammates. But like I said, I mean, if that's his first goal ever at the World Cup, he probably wanted to celebrate it with his wife. Yeah, that definitely was the first goal because they showed a clip of like uh him getting interviewed um before the World Cup started. Like, oh, what's your what's your one wish that happened during the cup? He said he started cheese, he said to score to score a goal at the World Cup. He did it. And that's what happened to Tai against Argentina, the world champs. And he did it. How do you what do you do how electric do you think that feels? Do you think it's more electric to score a goal in the World Cup against like that, against Messi, or something, or or or you know, uh the kick six, Auburn versus Alabama. What do you think is like more than that? Yeah, it's crazy you say that, bro. It's crazy you say that. Because this weekend, wow, because uh I was talking to some people that are from France, right um, and they're they're here for the game. Yeah, and they were just we're just talking back and forth about atmospheres and like stadiums and stuff like that. And he said, yo, you know one thing, he said, I love American football, but not really NFL. I love college, like the SEC. Yeah. Because you were saying the SEC is literally like kind of like how it is overseas, yeah. Like the culture and the atmosphere. He said, especially like all Auburn and Alabama, because it's like literally that type of setting is like how like I guess soccer over in like France and over in Europe is. But I mean, for me, probably I mean, what would be more electric? Like, like I'm trying like in your black. Auburn and Alabama, bro. I ain't gonna lie. You think so? Like the masses are gonna say, you know, soccer, of course, but I'm saying like the intensity, bro, that Auburn out. I mean, that's 100,000. Yeah, that drones, but the the Miami drones 100,000 too. No, I'm really no, I'm thinking, like, I'm really thinking, like, yo, I like these state these college stadiums are like NFL stadiums, bro. They are some of them are bigger than NFL stadiums, 100%. So, I mean, ah, damn. So, is college more like the Chevalier than the NFL? I've always said that college football is better than NFL. That's I've I've said I'm talking about just pure atmosphere. Yes, yes, 100%. College, we're talking purely football, purely football, college football atmospheres are better than NFL by landslide. I think so too. Like on a day, on a weekend, weekend basis. Ew. On a weekend, week out basis. Why would we drive a country act? I did it, I did a V2. I'm saying, but on a weekend and week out basis, Cosmo is better. But that NFL playoff atmosphere, I ain't gonna lie to you, bro. When we at the um the Eagles Commanders like game, and and Saquon broke on the sideline, bro. I never felt a stadium rock like that. Rock more than LCU Alabama game. It was damn near close, bro. I'm talking about when when 2NM was coming back. I don't know, bro. Like that joint was electrifying. Like the whole strip was roaring.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like you can hear it from the stadium.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Bro, I'm I'm being serious. That's what I'm saying. I'm asking. I don't know which one's more like that. I'm talking about what was me, you, and Kirko. No, I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm thinking. Yeah. I've been in both because the whole strip was shaking in in Tuscaloosa. That shit was packed, bro. From ball from the bars to the stadium was packed. Trying to walk to the stadium, bro. That shit was packed, bro. Shoulder to shoulder, people walking through. I don't know, bro. That was when Donald Trump was there too. Yeah, that atmosphere just that was an elite atmosphere, though. That was definitely an elite atmosphere. But we're comparing it to FIFA, though. I mean, or soccer. Yeah, I'm thinking because you're on the world stage, right? You're down. You're down 2-1.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Extra time. You got maybe like eight minutes left on the clock. Ten minutes left on the clock. And you strike from deep, top left corner, top right corner, going crazy against Messi enough. As a kid, the hidden going crazy in Argentina drunk. I'm saying the difference is there's more countries versus countries versus more like state. No, I'm agreeing. I'm just saying, I'm just saying the feeling, electrifying, all of it combined. I don't know, bro. But the kick six is probably more electrifying, though. I ain't gonna lie. Yeah, that kick six, bro. Like, bro, that kicked it. Because the TV was shaking. Like the camera was shaking. Like the thing is, this is a penalty kick versus a like we're talking about a side game. True. Yeah. And nobody expected that to happen either. What has more pressure? More pressure? Penalty kick or or kick six. From like 45. A penalty kick? You mean like I would say like a better comparison would be like a field goal to win the game. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like you have to kick it from like 4550 versus a penalty kick. It's way field goal kick's harder for sure. Really? I think so. Not a penalty kick. What's the shit called when it's like you and the goalie? It's a penalty kick. Okay, that's another thing. It's harder on the goalie to stop that joint, maybe. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, for the goalie to stop it. Yeah, I thought you were talking about like the score. No, no, no, no, no. Like goalie stop on the penalty kick. Oh, a penalty kick by a mile. Penalty, bro, penalty, bro. That's it's hard to stop a PK, bro. It's hard to stop a PK. You got a hundred thousand, you're trying to kick it in the goalie. Stopping the penalty kick's harder, bro. I think that's. Like Auburn, Alabama. Yeah. Yeah, stopping a penalty kick. I'm not beat, bro. As a goalie, stopping a I got one of the anybody, a professional goal scorer right in front of me. It's me in the net. That's hard, bro. That's what I'm saying. Versus the ball on the in the goal post going through. I think stopping. 15 and in. I think I think stopping a PK is harder. Nah, you're bugging, bro. I'm not bugging, bro. We can ask everybody. I think I think stopping a PK is harder to get it. 50-yard field goal, bro. A second left on the game, and you got it against 100,000. Stopping a PK. Bro. Game on the line, PK as a goal. You gotta stop this thing. I highly disagree. Yeah. I highly disagree. Yeah. You must not realize how hard it is to stop a PK. You must not know how to realize hard to kick a field goal from 50 yards in with the last second of the field. I think I better have a I think I have a better um I think I have a better analysis of what it would take to kick a field goal as opposed to stopping PK because I've never been in the you know what I'm saying? Like never kicked the field goal for 50 yards. I mean we tried to kick a field goal for 50 yards. You can see you've never kicked a field. Not with the 100,000. Exactly. But I'm just saying though, I can conceptualize it. Bro, bro, you've been in the stadium before. You brought you been on the field before with like a big ass stadium. If you're saying Mills, if you're saying Mills, you could either kick a 50-yard field goal for 100 million with 100,000 um screaming fans, game on the line, or stop a PK for 100 million when 100,000 turns. I'd do a PK, but no doubt. Nah, I'm kicking the field goal. You're not what? I'm trying to kick the field goal. You're not gonna make the field goal. I'm trying to kick the field goal, bro. You can't even kick 30 yards. I can kick 30 yards. You can't even kick. No, you can't. It's like, yes, I can't. Nah, bro. I can definitely kick 30 yards. You can't routine make a 30 yarder. It's not about routine. I just need me to make it one time. You can't even make a 50 yard, you can't even make a 40 yarder. Yes, I can.

SPEAKER_04

No, you can't.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I can.

SPEAKER_04

No, you can't.

SPEAKER_03

You don't think I can make a 40-yard field goal? Bro, you let alone you couldn't even make a 30 year old. How many tips do I get? Bro, this is one. Bro, and PK get one time, bro. What are you talking about? PK, it's more reactionary. I've drilled a 40-yarder before. When? We just mess around the practice. They put it on the team. Right. Boom, that joint. We're talking about a 50-yarder, bro. A 50 yarder. You ain't never kicked a 50 yarder in your life. I'm taking my odds with the 50 yards. Versus a PK is more reactionary, bro. That's hard, bro. It's more reactionary. I think the people will agree with me. What's hard? Bro, you literally got to guess. Exactly. It's more reactionary. But you have to guess, though. Versus being precise and accurate. Bro, at least you know where the go with the PK is. You can be more athletic with the PK, trying to stop a PK versus kicking that. I think you know how I realize how hard it is to stop a PK. Nobody said it wasn't hard. I'm sure it's true. I think it's like 5X, 10X. Versus a fucking 50-yard field goal? Fuck no. Hell no. Alright. Bro, you can't even kick a fucking 45-yard field, let alone a 40 or I can make a you I'll have to bet you on that, Joe. I can make it. Bro, if we were if we went to the soccer field right now, bro, I know I'll stop more goals than you kick a 50-yarder. Making? Yes, bro. Nah. Yes, bro. Alright, we can we can make that bet. We can bet that. Like I can bet $100 on that. Like I we can I bro. Bet That's a bet. That's all you guys. I think I'd be a better field goal kicker. Yeah, you're delusional, bro. I'm not delusional. I think I'd be a better field goal kicker, bro. This guy's delusional. Nah. But as we continue with the um with the FIFA, I mean, the games have been the games have been real good, though. The games have been crazy. Like we're almost to the uh to the round of 16. Um one thing we were talking about off air was Mexico playing England. What they're playing for. Viva La Mejo. Say Viva La Mexico. If they get the dub, do you think that's an unfair advantage to play home field like that? You said it's gonna be 80,000 in the Mexico. 80,000 in the Mexico City Stadium against England. It's gonna be packed and booming. You're not gonna see no English flags, bro. We're playing for pride, family, and territory. That's what the boys' territory. That's what them boys are playing for. Yeah. Everything on the line. They can't go back, they can't go back to their to their home stadium. Are they gonna try to go to the States or England? I mean, there's a lot riding. There's a lot riding on that game. This is this is this right here is gonna be a symbolic moment for Mayo. It will. If they wind up winning to get to the round of 16, it's gonna be something serious for uh for that country. Um, but do you think do you think it's it's fair to be able to play um in your in your home city like that? The main city, the capital? Yeah. The odds just so happened to be right there. Fuck it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, technically, we're playing at home. We are we are in America. We are. That's the people up north, they lost. They folded. The Canadians, they lost. They was a home, they was a uh at home too and lost. It was in Canada, bro. But when it when it comes to the United States, I mean, what would it mean for the country for us to go on a run? For the United States of America to go on a run, make the Final Four, make a championship. Because if we win and say Portugal beats Spain, it's gonna be tough. Say the U.S. knocks out Ronaldo and them. That's gonna be a it's gonna be a historic moment, honestly, because like if we beat Ronaldo, then we play who? The winners of uh I think uh Morocco and whom? Of France. Then we gotta play potentially Mbappe and them. Yeah. We beat Mbappe and them, we could then that's what? That's that's you're going to the champion you're going to the championship after that. So we might probably see who Argentina. US vs. Argentina? For Messi's life. Last run. The USA beats Portugal. They beat Mbappe and Argentina to win the World Cup. I'm going to say this, bro. That's history. I'm going to say this. That's history. They win, well, they played a month. They played tomorrow, right? They play Monday. They play Monday. Yep. Right when it's ended. USA will win. And then they're going to beat Ronaldo. It's going to be a historic moment, bro. They got athletes this year. Yeah. This is not no typical USA team just there for a participation trophy. I think they're here to really be a Cinderella team. Shake some shit up.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

They're going to run it up on Belgium. Bro, yeah, they have the athletes to do so. Yeah, and like you said, then they're going to beat Portugal. And if they're going to run it, it might not be in. Because the way this tournament's been going, and even they've been playing real dominant. Yeah. They have. And like I said, the way the tournament's been going to journal the World Cup, like, there's been a lot of upsets, bro. A lot. A whole lot. Do you think it's one of those things where you know how we saw in basketball the world's like getting closer on like the powers when it comes to like hoops and stuff like that? Do you think that's happened in soccer? Where it's like it's such a it's becoming even more and more obviously the number one game in the world, but like you're seeing other countries pop up based on the talent in different countries in general. What I'm just noticing is African everywhere. Black Melon people are really taking over the game. Yeah. You know what I mean? Um, granted, you have the messages of the Ronald's, you have the those other soccer players that stand out, but you're seeing a lot of these players that shows, you know, the world, black people are everywhere. Yeah, 100%. You know what I'm saying? Fran France is straight black people when they die. The black people, bro. The top players. Mbappe was playing like a nigga. Yeah, they was rumbling against uh Paraguay. Yeah, they're not the but Paraguay had to be like that. Yeah, they had a rattle. They knew they were playing against uh a group of guys that then the Nacho get it, Nacho gonna. They can't just get put pushed over. Uh speaking of this, before we wrap up the World Cup stuff, based on what you've seen so far, we're seeing we're seeing the aura of all these different superstars in uh in FIFA. You see that video of Ronaldo coming out on his balcony in Toronto and the whole city shut down, and they're screaming his name. Do you think he has more aura than Messi based off of that? I mean, they were rushing Messi out the restaurant. True. Like they were at that door, bro. I don't know about that. Messi, I don't know, bro. Messi's the bull, bro. Messi's different, huh? Messi's bop's a little bit. I don't know, bro. Yeah, Messi's bops a little bit. I'm not gonna lie, when Ronaldo made that PK. It went crazy, bro. He did that step, step, suit. Said su. And the whole state, you heard the echo through the whole entire arena. It sounded like they said ooh, but it was su. And like I said, when you went on that balcony in Toronto, bro, and they just start going crazy. I don't know. The only reason we pay to play attention to Portugal soccer is because Ronaldo. What say? Only reason we play attention to Portuguese as as a national team is because Ronaldo, but if he's not there, no one's paying attention to them like that. With all the people, who is a bigger soccer player, Ronaldo or Messi? That is crazy. I don't know. Like orarized, like orise? You say you we're we're born in Philly right now. We got we got we got Ronaldo. Oh, Ronaldo's um leaving the W hotel, and you got Messi down the block. He at the Marriott leaving the Marriott, who has a bigger crowd? Bro, there's I mean it there's you can't really even be Mayhem regardless. It's gonna be packed regardless, bro. Like it's more, it has to come down to the game. Who has a better game? Yeah. Realistically, right? Like, if we're talking about just structure of like no ditty of body, they're gonna say Ronaldo all day. You know what I'm saying? They are, and then when you talk about oh, who I want to see play, they're probably gonna wanna see Messi. They're gonna wanna see Ronaldo too. I ain't gonna see her in cap, but they definitely damn sure gonna want to see Messi. Yeah. Cause I ain't gonna lie. Ah, so Messi's Bob, he's just he cold, bro. He just definitely I don't know. I Messi's just a little bit colder, bro, to me. I I I I would agree with that, bro. I would agree. Ronaldo's on some shit like he's positioned in the right spot and he's making the play like immaculate, but I'm saying, like, I don't know. Messi shit is just a little bit just more poetic.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It feels like Messi he goes and get it a little bit more. Versus like you exactly that's the best way to say he goes, he goes and get it, he makes it happen. Yeah, Ronaldo's more so like he's like KD, bro. He's a finesse, he's like the finesse, he's the easy money sniper, bro. Yeah, he's gonna be like he's like KD. He when he gets it, you know it's gonna be a bucket. But but but Messi make it really gonna make it happen. He's getting to it. Like he really coby like he's gonna mix you. Yeah. That makes sense. That makes sense. Um, you got anything else on FIFA? Um the last the last story of the day um I want to talk to you about, just because you know, we used to game and stuff like that. Um it says PlayStation is moving away from physical games. Um, it says gaming is heading um even deeper into the digital era. Sony has reportedly signaled uh that the future of PlayStation is centered around digital distribution, um, with physical games becoming less of a priority moving forward. Um the industry has already been shifting in this direction with digital downloads, subscriptions, cloud gaming, and online storefronts becoming the preferred way people buy games. Um while digital makes games more accessible, many long longtime gamers aren't happy. Um, and physical collectors worry about ownership, um, game preservation, resale value, and what happens when um servers eventually shut down? Um so a big question is when you buy these games, do you actually own them if they're digital? Because what happens if PlayStation shuts down, you spent this money, servers down, say they go out of business, do X, Y, and Z. How can you play offline? But if you don't have the game, how yeah, how do you how do you how do you how are you able to play it still? That's a great question. And on top of that, it's just like the fact that they're going away from hard copies, it might be the stupidest thing they could ever do. Because it's like, in my eyes, it's like vinyls. Yeah, like you gotta think about it, like these games with these hard covers and these different designs or special editions, people really hold on to that. For example, like Dragon Ball Z. Like, I still have those games, and and some of those games, they're not they're not like thousands of dollars, but they're like some of them are hundreds or two hundred because it's like they don't make that shit no more, bro. Right, right. They don't make it no more. Like, same with like the Dexters and whatever. It's just like now that we're going to oh, you should download and you have the game, just like, okay, it doesn't feel like you can't really appreciate the game. Yeah, the game's gonna be fun, but like people really used to look forward to like I'm literally about to get this game. Yes, and you look at the cover and then you look at the bag, and it's like it's essentially like a book, bro. It's it's it's an attention grabber. Yep. You know what I mean? You're reading like the words and you open up the pamphlet and everything. The inside might have a design. So I mean I have some cheat codes in there for you. No, real talk. To where it's like, I don't know. I think this is a bad move on Sony and PlayStation. I agree. I 100% agree. When I saw this, I was just like, the first thing, I was thinking of mine was the ownership question like I asked, but also like the nostalgia of the games. I think when it comes to like the value of like having the physical games, even though it may not be the game's not maybe a thousand dollars, I think the stock, the value of them gonna go up because it's gonna be less and less limited. It will, bro, because you gotta think about it, like Dragon Ball Z, bro. Like, I think the the creator's still alive, bro. Like when he goes, bro, like up, bro. Like up. Like up. I remember I gave one of my Dragon Ball Z games where I was like, ah, I should have kept it because I realized like Dragon Ball Z, they still make shows to this day. Yeah. But like at the same time, it's just like that's the point of just having those hard copies. Because it's like only, like I said, a hundred people might have this game. Yeah, that's it. 100 people. And what about the what about the also like these gaming stores like GameStop, and there's places that sell physical games that people were going to go buy it. Fizzle out and die. Like, I mean, it's the Blockbuster effect. Unless it's on some like GameStop to like, and they switch over to like tech and like IT, like fixing consoles and stuff like that. Yeah, I mean that, but just like you said, like the nostalgia aspect or the the part of like how it was like when Blockbuster was a thing before Netflix and all that came out. Like, people like to go to the store, get the game. It's even part of just like waiting in line to get the game. I know it kind of like fizzled out because you can still download a lot of people download it, but some people still wait, go pick up games at the GameStop, the physical copy. Like Pop's one of those people he won't mess, he'll order the game though, but he still has the the physical CD of like a Madden or whatever it is. There's people that still do that. That's a fact. But I think, like I said, I think the Game Stops are gonna be obsolete, gonna be gone. I think people should be worried about, I mean, not well, gamers will be worried about if like the servers and stuff go down, how they actually can play the game like offline, if everything, everything's there. Like, I think that's bad for the game, the game, the actual person, and also bad for like a PlayStation or whatever, or the Sony, um, when it comes to just like the product value. It should be cheaper. I think it should be cheaper too. It might be. The prices might get reduced. Oh well no, it's supply and demand. They can still set the prices, the price. Yeah. I mean, that that's a that's a real that's the real thing about what happens if your servers go down. Do I still have access to this? Do I get if your servers go down, it's just like your system will be down. You said what? Like your console will be down. Yeah, in a sense, I'm saying, but a lot of these games are online, right? Yeah. So if every are you are do you download the games onto your actual system, or is it like you just download it into your your cloud, your PlayStation, whatever cloud is? Yeah, you download it to the game, like your your PS5. I feel that. Like the thing is, is like you still can do shit offline and everything. The main thing is the nostalgia part of having a hard copy, bro. Like, it's it's just like buying a physical album, now going to streaming. Yeah. Like they're getting away from the hard copies, but like it to me, it's just like it just I feel like it takes away the excitement of playing the game. I agree. What my last question um on this is what do you think like is nostalgia for I guess like the kids coming up today when it comes to games? Clipping. Okay. They probably see clips and stuff like that on like social media, like, oh, I want to see what game was this. And they find the game and they probably follow it, go on YouTube, watch all that stuff. And next thing you know, they're gonna go, mom, I want to buy it, and then they go download. Everything is just click, click, click, click. Yeah. Because now you don't have to wait two days. Yeah, or just like seeing somebody do like a crazy move or something like that. They're trying to get it to the point where people don't move. Yeah. What's the movie you said? It was like Wally? I told you it's Wally, bro. It's real life Wally, bro. Like, like, and really watch that movie. It just everything is literally to where it's like all you have to do is sit. Like everything, like like now, even with like what like these streamers do, everything is digital, everything's with the camera, everything's just, you know what I mean? To where people can just follow you. Oh my god, it's real life GTA, bro. That's really what it is. See, I got my mind's racing right now. That's a fact. Yeah. Motherfuckers just watch things in real time. Bro, in real time, bro. It's like people are watching you to watch you to watch you. It's really the black dang black mirror, bro. It is. That's all I got for today. Because my mind about to start, you're about to take down the whole rabbit hole when it comes to that. Because it's really the black mirror, bro. But so I got for episode um, what's it, 291 of the Face of the Future podcast? We on the road to 300. Make sure you like, subscribe, comment, join the compound. You know what it is. It's your boy Mills. I got rocket in the building with me. Peace.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my God. Is that the faces of the future?
